2E90 Fuel Mixture Control codes - Help!
Strange thing is this code only appears if I haven't started the car for more than 1 day.
Once cold started after the 1 day interval, the car will sputter for a bit and then the code is thrown. I then proceed to clear the code via jb4 and then the car runs fine for everyday thereafter as long I crank it daily. No clue what this could be. I've tried changing maps, changing fuels from BP ultimate to V power, reset adaptations. Anyone had a similar experience and a resolution? Note: Not running e85, n54 with jb4, sparks replaced ~5000km ago |

i had bmw branded plugs that the dealer installed about 4k before I bought the car kept getting misfires. I changed coils which helped but still had rough idle and misfires.
Decided to change plugs and bam it was like another car to drive. In hindsight I had some oil on the plugs due to leaking rocker cover gasket perhaps this contributed also, as the plugs i pulled out had minimal wear ![]() |

Okay another update:
I got my intake valves cleaned, changed to OEM Bmw and....... Still got 29E0 codes on cold start ![]() Here's a pic of my plugs ![]() They actually look alright, so kinda wasted my money there. Probably should've checked them first before replacing but wanted peace of mind either way. The n54tech guys reckon I should go 3D scalars which I assume is backend flash... however my car isn't modded enough to be doing a flash I would've thought |

O2 sensors perhaps?
Have you had DP's installed? I bought two if these and fixed my issue with the car hesitating and running rough at low rpms http://www.ebay.com/itm/Bosch-17098-...216e09&vxp=mtr |

Rough idle after extra long cold starts ? or does the car sputter and shut off ?
If its a rough idle when cold after sitting for longer periods id have money on leaky injector if thats the case and if it smooths out when warm. |

Do you get any smoke on start up?
It would have been good if you pulled your plugs after starting and let the car rest to see if you had any wet plugs (indicative of a leaking injector) Have you tried running different maps? |

So the rough idles have disappeared and so have the black smoke - looks like the black smoke was a result of the chemicals they used in the intake cleaning process. However, in spite of all of this, I still get the bloody 29e0 fuel mixture control code which points to running rich. This is on stock tune as i've turned off jb4. Not sure how to proceed from here sigh |
