Like Tom Hanks in Castaway.
Just curious. I always wanted to be able to do that.

never tried it. i think you need a bow though so you can spin one piece of wood fast enough to create enough friction.

Two dry peices of wood, notch a hole in the side of one (sizeable hole) and fill it with stuff that is easily flammable. Then carve a point into the other piece of wood and put it in the hole and start spinning it back and forth really fast with the palms of your hands. This will work, you just have to get the flame built up from the tender, that is the hardest part.

I don't know that I would want to flash back to that scene while sitting in aisle seat 10A.

Fire from sticks? Easy.
Fire from a candy bar and a soda can? More challenging: http://wildwoodsurvival.com/survival...bar/index.html |

Have you seen the people on survivor try to do it? They spend their whole day doing it and give up. It's possible, but takes an incredible amount of time/patience. Gary Last edited by garyhgaryh; 02-03-2008 at 09:18 AM.. |
