which notch is the 70?
it depends how fast youre driving... my drive to work is about 2.5 miles under 30mph and 2.5 miles on A road at around 70/80mph and by then it just reaches the first notch, or just over. |

As soon as you switch on, gauge is at 70 first notch will be 80, so it takes approx 5 miles to start to register, mine is taking approx 9 miles with the same mix of driving thought this was excessive as not advisable to push engine till warmed up.

i take it yours is petrol right?
sometimes i cant help myself in prodding the throttle jsut before it reaches the 90 mark cos im inpatient or i c sum1 trying to give chase! sometimes i think maybe because its analogue dial it takes time for the needle to shift/register because i get hot air through the vents after 5 mins of being in the car |

I agree it does take an EXCEEDINGLY long time to warm
The engine is clever though It won't let me "procede" at anything other than a fair pace unitl warm, once warm the govenor comes off and it's whe ee ! SJ |

What's the point of all these gauges anyway, even the speedometer is superfluous to requirements. Sit in car - push button - point - floorit - arrive. Job done. Sorry back to oil temperatures....................................

The E92 335d M sport I test drove had an oil temp gauge where the stupid fuel 'swingonometer' is on mine. Sales guy said it was fitted in EU cars but they were stopping it again? I never took any notice of it anyway, just don't thrash it for the first mile is my theory.
