Lux5.0 + Blue DRL + Yellow fog

Spent almost 3 hours to finish this project. What can I say, German engineering, not design to be taken apart. The DRLs replacement is pain in the a**. I had to stop for two beers before I can continue to finish the job The Lux 5.0 is straight forward but I stripped one of the torx screw, so I can only pray the Lux 5.0 will last forever. If I do need to replace it in the future, a new head light housing is a must to do it $$$

Here are the parts:

Lux 5.0 for angel eye
Luminics 6000K for DRL
Luminics 2500K for yellow fog

Without turning on, the DRL housing looks blue which is kind of unique. After turning on, it's pure white and matches the Lux5.0 well. I like it, so I'll keep my DRL on all the time. You'll be the judge:

It's much brighter than the stock fogs. At night, it's super white in the upper front and bright yellow right in front of the car on the ground.

sweet... my 2500's are on their way...

they are going in the fogs to see how they look in person...

I also ordered a set for the drl's for some reason... I was going to get the mtec 4350's as I had in my last car or the 6000's.. but for some reason I got a set of the 2500's for the drl's too... since I'm not changing out the angel eyes.. and the stock ones are kind of yellow, I figured it may match and look good with 2500 drl's on...

who knows, i'll post pics when done.

is the drl really that hard to get too?? does the wheel really have to come off in order to reach???

I guess I'll find out... my small hands may be able to get in there ok?? LOL

I do like very much the way that bulb looks during the day (the 6000) when not on, I like the fact that the blue on the bulb reflects throughout the housing!!

You definitely will need to remove the wheel to do the DRLs. The location of the DRL is soo.. far inside the wheel well. I could hardly see the DRL bulb w/o stick my head into the wheel well. You'll see what I'm talking about after you remove the light cover. Good luck

hated... tough to jack up the car and remove the wheel when they don't even provide a jack and wrench lmao...

guess I could use the one from the wife's lexus....

it doesn't look like they are far down, how does removing the wheel help?
I thought I read in the manual the instructions and I don't remember removing the wheel??

actually the manual says for High beam lamps ( I assume they mean the drls?), access is through the engine compartment.

It says for low beam and turn signal, turn the wheel inward and open a flap.

I agree it doesn't matter what is says if you have tried already, does the wheel not turn enough to get hands in there?
Is there not enough room through the engine compartment?
I am able to get my hands in there where I think the black cover is for the drl bulb, just not sure if that is the right one lol....

Those Lux's look amazing! Not too crazy bout the yellow fogs though...too JDM for my tastes. Still, two thumbs up!

I was actually thinking about getting the Luminics 6000 for my fogs to match the LUX 5.0. Would you say its pretty much an exact match? It looks great in the pictures, but does it look that close in real life? Thanks!

lux 3 and 4 are like 6000-6500k while lux 5 is like 5500-6000k.. should be close.

Luminics 6000 is a little on the blue side compare to Lux5.0. When I use with DRL since it's half power, so the color matches perfect. But with full power, it's too blue, you might want to try 5000 or 5500.

My last car was a Lexus GS400. That's why I prefer yellow fogs

The lights look great! Can't wait to get my yellow fogs as well. Soon it will be the norm instead of the crappy stock color. Love the the DRL's too. Maybe I will muster up enough willpower to go back in there to do them too. Did the Lux 4.0 last month and was a little shy to do it at first for fear of misaligning the panels back up but it was pretty straight forward. I know I will be cussing when I am trying to pull the DRL's.

Did you get quite a few pebbles fall out when you first pulled off the wheel cover? I had a handful or so.
