Front Heated Seat Switch Retrofit
My 2011 335d has aftermarket seat heaters with the switch on the front corner of the lower seat trim (that goes around the controls and wraps to the front). I am forever hitting that and turning it on. I would like to purchase the panel with heated seat switches and then wire into that. Has anyone done this? Easy/hard? Obviously I'll need to run wires forward but I need to figure out the wiring pin outs and then come up with a connector to tap into the switches.
Just looking to do a few small retrofits to add a little convenience that didn't come with the car originally (see question about rear seat power outlets). Thanks. |

Here's a TTT for you since I'm researching the same thing. Can I ask what brand heaters you went with and how you like them?

Previous owner had them put in so not sure but PO is actually a neighbor so I'll see if I can find out the brand.
What brand do you have? Have you come across any info at all on this? We may have to do a DIY ourselves. Shouldn't be too hard but pulling things apart to try to figure out out on my DD makes it tougher so getting info from someone else would help cut the time things are apart. |

I don't have any yet, I've been thinking of getting a universal kit such as this (http://www.autowarm.com/products.php) and wiring it up to make it work. My aim is to do it sometime this summer, so I have them for next winter.
I hear ya on the DD thing, that's always a big limiting factor. |

Interested also. Currently don't have seat heaters, but with our Canadian winters being so harsh, I'm sure it would make a great investment.

Well looks like I need to get a switch and see if I can figure it out. I need to determine if the harness part is already there that this would plug in to or if I'll need to get power from somewhere. Then figure out the pin out for the plug.
Oh, and find the time to do it! 😀 If anyone has any info related to the pins please let me know. |

Ok, I got the panel with switches for the heated seats. My next task is to figure out the pin outs. Does anyone know where I can get a good wire diagram or pin out list for this switch? I'm searching but not having any luck yet.
