Florida drag racing questions

In Florida, specifically at Orlando Speedway, what are the rules and requirements for drag racing? Helmet only? Up north they had requirements for roll cages, etc depending on your speed. I don't see any of them on their website. I'm hoping to crack into the 10s. In NJ if you were in the 11s you needed a roll bar. 10s a cage. Which really is more than a little ridiculous. Also does anyone know if they have loaner helmets or anyone have a set of drag tires I can borrow or rent? Probably this summer or fall. Install is in a month.

If i were you i would head over to Bradenton motor sports park for test and tune on Thursday. Not sure if they have the Saturday night tune anymore..? Track is fast and very well maintained. I think anything under 12 or 11 sec is just a helmet. Opens at 6pm and is only $20

Bradenton's Rules:

1. Any driver must have valid drivers license.
2. Overflow container & battery hold down required.
3. Drive shaft loop required for cars faster than 13.99 (recommended for all).
4. Seat belts (5 point harness for cars faster than 11.99) required.
5.. Cars must be in good/safe operational condition.
6. All convertible drivers must wear helmets & can’t have passengers.
7. Faster than 13.99 drivers must wear helmets and can't have passengers.
8. Cars faster than 11.99 require roll bar, fire jacket, 5 pt. harness
9. All cars faster than 10.99 require cage.
10. Convertibles faster than 13.49 require roll cage or roll bar or roll hoop.
111. All IHRA Safety Rules Apply.

I think most of the tracks have pretty similar rules ... not that they are always strictly enforced.

Gotcha. I would need by the rules a roll cage, 5 point harness, fire jacket, and helmet. I'll get right on that.

I ran lowly 12's at my last T&T and nobody ever looked at the car. I had a helmet, but that was it. I am sure that running a 10 will draw someone's attention eventually, but you will get to make some passes.

They have new owners here at Orlando speed world so I'm not sure but with my Evo, 11s I was fine but when I made 10s I had to have a helmet. And the regular rules must at least have sneakers and long pants on.

Perfect. Then I'm good. I must be the only Floridian who doesn't own flip flops or crocs. Lol

just because the rules are there doesn't mean they are strictly enforced, i came from nj too and would get thrown out if the car went faster than 12.0 without a roll bar but down here at pbir we have gone much faster than that with no issues. my friend has a new rs7 that is tuned and runs 10.4 in the 1/4 and nobody says a word to him all he has is a helmet

I have been to Bradenton about 5 times and have never had my car inspected. Ran 12.1 at 118.XX and wasn't asked to wear a helmet.
