Ebay is how I made most of my living. At some point they became to much trouble. So I have stopped selling on there and now I just wholesale to people who sell on ebay.

I've sold everything on ebay, right now I have a company with a partner that we just started recently. We are selling HDMI cables, water scooters, Note counters. On personal accounts in the past I have sold, DVD's, Software, Polo shirts, wallets, CD's. Anything you could buy cheap and sell high.

You spent over a grand on an HDMI Cable? Typo or idiocy?

I have sold just about anything that I don't use anymore. I found selling my electronics that are broken makes a good return. There are a lot of people that will throw/give away broken digital cameras and you can sell them on ebay as some people buy them for parts.

^Making a living on Ebay has everything to do with finding the right product. I worked in retail ever since I was in high school and eventually past college. It seemed as though I was destined to work in retail (which I was not thrilled about) so I started to look into other ideas. I should mention that ever since I was a child I have been business minded, and knew that at some point in my life I wanted to work for myself.

Well, about 5/6 years ago, after learning how to buy on ebay, I used some of my retail contacts to locate items I could sell for profit. I ended up lucking out with close-out and overstock designer apparel from a high end retailer. Ever since then I have been going strong.

I truly think that good ebayers instinctually have the ability to be able to know how to buy low and sell high no matter what the product. Every once in a while I will be in a store, find them closing out a product, and will purchase the whole lot, knowing that there is a profit to be made.

Ebay has been great to me. It has afforded me the ability to work for myself, purchase a new home, a few nice cars, and invest a little money on the way. It is great for now, but I know that it is not my future and I am working towards my next business venture.

i am also tempted to start a ebay store of my own..i have a few connections back in china for electronic goods, and i am tempted .. but i live in canada, and it seems the demand for goods using ebay is relatively low compared to people in US...

would you think it would be possible to start my own ebay "store" selling maybe 30-50 units of goods monthly while maintaining with university and a part-time job?

I rarely buy stuff for cheap and sold it on ebay. but this is the best way to make lots of $$$ on ebay.
A close friend of mine always keep his eyes out on very nice deals, buy sh1t load of them and sell it for more on ebay.
He made couple grand like that. I myself made some big money couple times especially after a huge shopping on Black Friday.
You buy stuff for real cheap on black friday, wait couple weeks until price jacks up again, and sell it on ebay for more.

Most of the times I do ebay for a little side money. I usually sell stuff that I used and no longer needed.
I buy a lot of electronic/luxury brand stuff, and those two categories are highly popular categories in ebay.

People who are getting "ripped off" are usually newbies unless you are really unlucky(total false advertisement).
I've been ebay shopping for 7+ years now. when you stay around ebay for that long, you start to get an idea
of which seller is honest and which seller rolling the dice with buyers.

nowdays its much harder to get better deals. Long time ago, Ebay used to be dirt cheap, especially with eletronics.
Now even retailers check the prices on ebay and tend to match prices, so its harder to get super cheap deals on ebay.

once i sold 150 lacoste polos on ebay. i bought them for $12 a pop and sold for 25-40$. Made a decent profit and spent in on stuff for my old car...
its easy but at the same time too much work if your lazy like me...

also guys there is a site called expotv.com and if you make a video review of stuff from like a can a pees to ur e9x they give you money for it... I use them sometime when im not lazy or need cash... for cars they give you 10$ for a lousy 1 min review... not a bad deal...i reviewed the 535xi i got as a loaner and they actually paid so if u need money good way to get it...
