Evolve vs AA N52 Tune?
To anyone who has had both, is there an appreciable difference?
I read a review of somebody with a 128i that was blown away by the low end tq difference with the Evolve tune. If it isn't worth it, I will stick to AA and just get the carless header tune. I am finally doing my headers soon, and want to make sure I get every last bit of goodness out of this car to keep the M3 bug at bay ... I'm a sales manager at a chevy dealer, so every now and then I will drive a used impala or cruze for a day or two... when I get back into my trusy 330i, it always feels like a sports car lol. I would really like to make it to the 10 yr mark without getting bored with this car, and I think its possible. At that point I will either do an M3 or keep it and get a porsche or corvette as a second car.

AA for sure, even ST|G admitted such (based around the fact that their old tuner left).
No one else has offered the support and the products for the N52 that AA has, this a no brainer. Last edited by Taskmaster; 04-23-2015 at 09:06 PM.. |

Check out St|g's dyno of his 128i with SS headers and Evolve tune. I believe a lot of the low end tq is attributable to headers but Evolve certainly knows how to milk this engine. It is strong and smooth, and above 5500 rpm in 4th it pulls and pulls like a small supercharger. This was experienced during HPDE obviously. In your case, I think you will be fine just to get AA 02 sim tune and not spend more money on Evolve. However, you wouldn't be disappointed. |

Evolve is such an active participant on the forums..............
Seriously though, I've been more than pleased with AA. Evolve gave me the run around and I walked away with a sour taste in my mouth. |

In terms of what? Performance? Support? Do you mind sharing your experience?

Evolve does manage to get every ounce of torque from the engine, but at this point, I would go with AA as Evolve's main tuner has retired. All Evolve tunes going forward will be canned.
That's a bit strong. My recommendation changed based on the current situation, like any reasonable person. If their main tuner was still there, they still would be my suggestion.

My experience has been flawless performance since day one, significantly more torque than other tunes, I believe more ultimate HP(need an equivalently modded AA car to test that), and an excellent power curve and usable powerband(due in part to said torque).

Probably, but according to the AA dyno, his car is missing midrange and peak power ( due to pulled timing perhaps.)

Has anyone gotten a recent Eurocharged tune? The locals here love their n52 with it.

Absolutely due to pulled timing. The data is all there in my thread, where you can see the AFR tank.
