Help with a/c heat controls

Please help me! I have a 2010 335D and can not find out what one of the buttons does. Does anyone know what the purpose is of the black button in the center of the a/c - heating module? The button is round and is less than 1/4 inch in diameter. This button is not labeled and is located below the blower speed button in the very center of the heat a/c module. I can not find any mention of this button in my owner's manual. What is the purpose of this button?
Thanks in advance for your help with what this button is for and it's proper use.

Help with a/c heat controls

The button is right under the fan speed control button on the 2010 and 2011 BMW 335D. The button pushes in like a spring loaded button. The button is round, raised, and is slightly larger than 1/8 inch (3mm). If you have heated seats (2010 or 2011), the heated seats control buttons are on each side of this button. There is no label on the button. I looked at six or seven 335D cars on ebay and all the 2010 and 2011 BMW 335D cars have the button on the a/c heat control module right under the fan speed control button. I am sorry that I cannot take a picture of the button. But, look at your car if you have a 335D. I promise it will be there. Push on it and you will see it moves like a spring loaded button not like a sensor. What is it?

I have an 11 335d and if what your talking about is like a glossy black I was confused at first as well. I looked in the manual and I believe it said the sensor to know the temp inside the car....

On my vehicle that is referred to as the "interior temperature sensor."

I want to thank everyone for their reply. I agree it is the temperature sensor. I thought it was a switch because it pushes in and springs back out like a switch.
