did you modify thermostat?

of the people who replaced their own waterpump and thermostat,
did you have to modify the part of the thermostat where the spring clip type hose connects ?

mine did not fit until I trimmed off the "key" a little bit that is on the thermostat that use spring clip type hose connection. I had to trim all 4 "keys" to make it look like the "original".

first one is new and second pic is old one.

No trimming here. All of those connections needed a little more elbow grease than I expected … even with a little silicone lubricant on them. But they fit nice and snug.
