A Few Questions

Hi all, after much dilemma from earlier posts whereby I purchased an e90 32dse in 2006 and was pushed into buying it and now wishing I had got the m version, and after fellas on this forum thought it could be cheaper to trade in, we this cam out at £5K for same age and mileage (robbing ciints). So I have decided to pay the car off this year and keep it for a few years and modify it myself, so here goes the questions: -

1. I like the m sport kit but not the rear bumper (in the colour of my car which is titanium silver) has anyone any piccies of one of these with the black bit painted or am I better with my other idea of getting the front sides keeping the rear and putting a rear lip spoiler on?

2. lights - I have been looking on fleabay for some xenon lights and the best priced units come from other parts of europe, do these work in the uk i.e. light direction due to side of driving? or should I go for the bulbs only option which I know is cheaper but dont know how bright they are and which ones to buy

3. exhuast - I have bend by turned down one so needs replacing, I know direct from bmw is expensive so was looking at the ones from Remus, anyone tried these? for sale from mstyle

4. I have been offered a full black leather interior for £450 with p/x of mine, what do these look like as in style are they the same as an se or a m sport (I do like the shape of the m sport version and would prefer these over leather) any pictures anyone?

5. bluetooth - has anyone retrofitted this kit in the uk not through a dealer that utilises the buttons on the steering wheel?

Sorry to ask so many questions but I wanna get it right and not pay the 5k to the dealers for what I want

You want the back of your car to look like this.
Its an AC Schnitzer rear diffuser that gets rid of the stupid black one that BMW insist on putting on their cars.
The front has the AC Schnitzer flippers.

Why not sell your car privately?

At least 2/3rds of that £5K must be the dealers margin.

I'd agree with that, also keep in mind all the money you spend on these mods will be wasted whereas if you spend £5k on a M-sport you will get a large fraction of that back when you eventually sell.

the problem is I still owe 7k on the car, was going to save up and pay it off this year
p.s.I dont think the mods doing them myself will cost anywhere near as much as 5k, however if i went this way (like I did with my previous supercharged lexus is200) is sell off the bits for close to what I paid for them and sell it as standard

1. What about having the black bit as carbon fibre or even blackline style?
However having thought about it for TiAg may look odd.

2. Have you got the washer fitted for headlamps?
If not the Xenon's should not be fitted as it is compulsory to fit them where Xenon's are fitted (EU - not US). Otherwise you will dazzle oncoming drivers when they are dirty. As the beam cannot focus correctly.

4. If that's for a Msport leather set inc door cards then its cheap. But if I was going to add leather aftermarket I would retrim at a specialist you can get a retrim done to your taste at the same time. I would opt for a two tone leather or maybe choc brown on M Sport seats.

5. I know it's not the neatest solution but you could add the parrot kit to the car (go for the colour version as it looks better). Parrot do a special lead for about £50 that will allow you to use the steering buttons.

If I were you I would find one modded and chop yours in.

Thanks for the replies so far guys
On the exhaust side I do not think the birds exhaust would look classy enough (if you don't mind me saying)

Remus AT has launched it's own chip tuning line called Powerizer, ask your dealer, he might be able to setup a package deal for you with exhaust + chip.

''I am not too bothered performance wise, I just dont like the look of the standard pointing down one and also I have bent mine reversing into a low wall and a standard from the stealer would probably be similar in price''

wrote this without reading, thought it meant power gains from the exhaust - silly me!

The Powerizers are not really about getting the biggest HP figure on the market, Remus was more looking to develop an easy to install, trouble free, and reliable chip with good gains and increased fuel mileage.
