Thumbs down Boost/Tune/Power on demand (With press of a button)

Does anyone know if SSTT, V2, HELIX, JB, ETC ETC ETC offer a tune, boost, or power on demand (whatever you want to call it)???

I mean, car should be normal (Hence, same gas mileage) and then press a button and become power mode?

I haven't seen it...

AA: switch, Helix: switch, V2: user activation or lack there of at start-up (can't be changed until next startup, but can be programmed to stay on permanently without user activation).

What else do you want to know. That pretty much covers it with the exception of the Juicebox which has a "switch" as well.

Helix has the option, but you have to wire it yourself.

I don't believe that any tune has a "tune on the fly"

I was thinking that this tune would be great as far as driving stock when going to and from work, but switch it when wanted.

BMS JB2R. Switch puts car in Race Gas Only tune, with switch off regular JB2 mode. But really there is no need to ever put the car in stock mode except when taking her in for service since none of the mods listed above have a significant affect on mileage, and all drive pretty close to stock as long as you stay off the boost.

Gas mileage will be the same as long as you don't floor it.

You could certainly implement this, but with adaptation going on by the computer it could be very CEL-prone. At minimum you wouldn't get max performance right after the switch. So, if at a light you wanted to flip your switch, don't expect the car to perform as well as it would 10 miles down the road. I think.

FWIW, some of the tunes offer better MPG IF you are driving it easy.

I don't know how people are getting better gas mileage. There was a noticeable change in mine....about 3mpg. I drive the car the exact same as I did before the Procede. And when you watch the instant fuel economy on the gauges, it is much more sensitive to throttle position and drops much quicker than it did when stock.

there is no switch on the Dinan, but reportedly there is a difference in that you only get full boost when you depress the throttle over 50%

With the AA xede piggyback i had before the procede, i had installed a valet switch in the glovebox. Turning the chip from the stock map to the aggresive map could be done at a light and when driving. Im sure you wont be at maximum power, but at least 90% it was. My boost gauge stayed at 8-10 with the stock map and 14psi with the xede on. It is def. more convenient than with the way procede does it.

I dont think so...i still have the switch wired into the ecu compartment from the glovebox, but the procede does not have anything to connect to to control it. I wonder if shiv has someting for us interested to hook up to the procede and have the option to switch maps this way. Im sure the procede is capable of this since there is a way to switch to the valet with the rpms. Just have to implement this configuration to work with a switch instead. Shiv? anyhting?

Yeah I'm sure

all you need to do is wire in a switch...mine is hidden in the glovebox. However, with the Helix tune we have integrated TPS boost modulation where you get stock boost and mpg at lower throttle inputs then taper to higher boost at higher inputs. check out the attache thread and see what the local users have to say about this feature.

You are always encouraged to turn your car off and then hit the switch.
