Paint warranty? Not sure if the paint itself has a warranty...why, what happened?

I dont know if paint is covered specifically. If the car is relatively new and paint were peeling or bubbling from underneath you could make a case for defect in materials. Don't burst/break the bubbles - you could make a defect look like extreme wear and tear.

I was thinking the same thing when I saw he lives in Hawaii. The car shouldn't rust in 2.5 years but the slightest chip in paint (from a rock) can make that happen in the salty ocean air. I live by the ocean in LA and rust starts forming rather quick compared to those that live more inland. I've been fortunate not to have any paint problems but I wash my cars weekly.

I had the same problem and the dealer sent the trim out to repaint. I didn't have to pay anything.
