GVA: BMC drop in filter

Hey Vancouver people. Not sure how many of you guys would be intereted, but I just talked to Advance motorsport in Coquitlam and they said they are getting the BMC drop in filters and they are selling them for $95 + tax (12%). Which is $106.40 for those who don't like math.

The cheapest I found from other vendors was $98 shipped. But then plus duties and stuff, I think advance's price will be cheaper.

Just giving you guys the heads up.

For those who don't know advance motorsports.

BMC filters are suppose to give good gains for a drop in. At least from what I've heard and read.

No additional group-buy discount?

Hmm, doubt it but i guess it all depends on how many people would be interested in it.

We should definitely start a group-buy then. Can we by any chance pay cash and evade the taxes?

I'll ask and see.

I'm just contemplating whether I should just get the drop in or get the CAI.
Any opinions?

advance i dont think allows the cash + no tax kinda thing.. i asked that when i wanted to buy my tires there, and they said no cause they dont want to deal with issues of getting caught.

Apparently CAI's don't benefit turbocharged engines, as any cold air that enters will be heated through the turbos and then cooled by the intercooler anyway. Plus there's also the huge cost associated with it, so I guess economically speaking a filter would be better?

CAI is not worth the price if ur not running any piggybacks. The more power you have the more the stock intake becomes a restriction.
