Spacers need retightening a lot?

So I've been looking for some spacers to help close the gap with my rear wheels on my 335i and one of my buddies told me on his LS460 he added some spacers before but he was always having to retighten them, is he just trying to persuade me from spending money or is he right?? I'd hate to have to constantly tighten my wheel bolts all the time, and I assumed if they were properly torqued that I'd not have any issues.. So I'm just wondering if those of you with spacers can vouch for him, or testify that he's driving a lexus and not a bimmer for a reason lol.. Thanks!

Spacers have no impact on how tight the lug nuts or bolts are. If he got spacers with really cheap studs or nuts, they may be stretching and causing them to loosen. But it's not an issue with spacers, it's an issue with the ones he bought.

That's what I figured.. I've just read through threads that have people saying "never remove the lug nuts!!!!" and I was like, 'wait a second, why not?" lol.. But thanks for your feedback!

Do you have bolts as well? Also are they hub centric?

Thanks!

that's the bolts he used, I'm guessing he didn't use extended bolts so they didn't have enough thread to hold solidly, or he got shit bolts with the spacers and they stretched

He went to Performance Plus in Naples, FL and they did it for him.. Than he was driving down the road one day and heard a wobbling noise so he checked his wheels and one whole set of lugs was loose.. Well about a month later he said it happened again so he traded them for a JL 10 W6 lol..!
