Help a newbie find some wheels

Hi forum. I have been lurking for a couple years. Never had anything exciting to post until now. (and its not too exciting) I am in search of some quality wheels. I recently purchased some junk winter wheels and I have had two crack in just 6 months of driving on them. I also do not have the budged for some custom forged multi-piece wheel. I was looking at VMR or even some 3sdm wheels. I do prefer the concave look but i don't plan on doing an aggressive drop. I like the way my car rides and handles with the factory sport package drop. SO.....
I'm looking for multispoke wheels, preferrable 18 or 19 inch. I would like something concave but doesn't have to be if it looks good. I have dedicated winter wheels so they can be a bit wider. I'm not rolling fenders to fit some rediculous wheel. Wheel budget not to exceed $350/wheel.

thanks in advance.

For you I would recommend Apex wheels. They are quality wheels for a good price. Designed with performance in mind rather than stance. They are rotary forged so they are a little lighter/stronger than gravity cast or low pressure cast.

I've had 19" Avant Garde m310s(low pressure cast), now I have 19" super deep concave Forgestar f14's. No complaints on either set. I did manage to bend one of the Avant Garde's after hitting a large pothole, but they took a beating for years . This time around I wanted a flush fitment and I was willing to do the work necessary to make it work. I thought I wouldn't be able to drive like I did before, but honestly its not much different I just have to watch out for really big bumps.

If you decide to go with VMR I recommend the v810's because they are rotary forged.

Thanks for the quick response. I like the look of the avant garde wheels over the apex, they look more concave. But forged wheels are lighter and stronger so I'll probably go with those. If i go with 18x8.5 and 18x9.5 which offset should I choose for NO rubbing issues?

If you like multi spoke perhaps , niche Essens or MRR Ground force G6 ... Both I think look good on BMW . Price point is very fair too. Under your budget.

Depending on what type/size of tire you're going to wrap them in.

Basing these on the Arc-8:
8.5 et38 with up to ~8-10mm spacer (depending on how flush you want it)
9.5 et35 Should be fine how it is.

Tire size recomendation: 235/40 and 265/35

Good recommendations. I have 235/35-19 front on19x8.5 et30 and 275/30-19 on 19x9.5 et35 on mine. No rubbing issues. It these are your warm weather tires look a Michelin Pilot Super Sport and Bridgestone Potenza RE-11 as 2 good options. If you live in a land full of potholes consider 18s

Thanks Chromey for some other options. My tire guy recommended Niche and Vossens. Vossens are too expensive. Niches look good, but are they strong? Those MRR wheels look good too, are they forged?
Kisho and Fundguy, I appreciate the advise on the offset and tire size for the new shoes.

Out of all the choices you've been shown, I'd still vote for Apex, especially the Arc-8. After that it'd be AG m590. But that's just my personal preferences.

Other than durability, do you care about anything else? Like weight for example or are you just looking for some shiny new shoes?

I would go with the Ec7's because you can use wider tires with the 10" rear wheel.

Check the For Sale board on the forums, plenty of good setups people selling in your price range, If you are looking for a solid set of 19's, your price point is a bit low.

Yeah. For a good set of wheels and tires, you're about $500 light.

Youll be somewhat limited in choices but you can get a fairly good set of wheels for $1000-$1200. Tirerack has tires for around $700 a set in those sizes. Apex wheels and continental dw comes out to about $2000 after shipping. If you find a vender that offers a wheel and tire combo you'll save some money.

If that's the case, then try and pick up some oem wheels, they usually are priced pretty aggressively, and pretty solid wheels!

I want to stand out a bit, OEM wheels are boring. $2000 isnt a set number, i can go as high as $2500.

If you like the csl type wheels here are a few other options. You can get a wheel and tire combo for a good price. Only thing is if you want to get them I would call and tell them the tire sizes you want since the sizes that show up on the website would be a little stretched. Take a look at the other wheels they have as well you might find something you like.
