All this power - no one in the 10's

Crazy to see how far this platform has come, even in the last 12 months alone. Confused that cars at 500 whp were knocking on the 10.99 1/4 run and yet all these cars pushing 600-700 wheel haven't accomplished this yet...what's the hold up?

I'm sure it's possible, maybe the guys that make that power just are not that into quarter mile times. Even if the car is hard to cut a low 60 they should still beable to get a mid 10 with just a high mph if they got over 650 whp.

With track tires and a LSD and decent driving

Its just a matter of time. There's cars running low 11's on rb's without inlets under 500whp. I'm sure those same cars will break into 10s with inlets and 100 more whp. Heck i wouldn't be surprised if a stock turbo car breaks 10's with inlets sometime soon.

It will come.. This platform is pushing the limits every year and constantly getting faster and more power. Its actually pretty remarkable.

that would be something to see if stock turbo would break in to the 10's but I don't think they flow enough air. Now Rb's or Vargas that's a different story.

I don't think it's been for lack of effort.

It's pretty common sense- take your car to the track, very high probability something will break, and parts aren't cheap.

The suspension leaves a lot to be desired on this platform (both I and xi) which is probably why a lot of guys choose to roll race...

The engine can handle most of the power guys are throwing at it, the driveline, is another story....

I've brought my xi to the track a few times this season, and somthing has given out each time lol.

I ran an 11.3 with 470 awhp last season, 0 issues, now that the power has been drastically increased...mo power mo problems

It's not power, it's hookup that's the issue. Been discussed in plenty of threads. Shiv is in the 10.8s. I'm gonna give it a shot to be first vert in the 10s.

Fundguy, do you know what the current E93 335i record down the quarter is? Best I found on dragtimes was high 12s. I'm hoping to beat that and be fastest, but not aiming for 10s! Can you wait a bit so I can hold the record for a moment? Hahah

Shiv from Vishnu hit into the 10's. But I agree 100% there should be plenty more people in that bracket. Tony from VTT said they're working with a company that is known for their IRS work on mustangs to develop something for the 335.

No but there's only one guy I'm aware of that has a setup close. A guy in TX who I think has an RB setup. If I was to guess high to mid 11s
only 10 car I'm aware of is shiv with a 10.8 something.

I've been running mid 11's for over a year pushing 525 awhp and figured it would only take a few passes for those recently adding inlets to crack into the tens....

Yeah but thats an Xi. The front stuff isn't made for the power and that's what's breaking. If you want big power you don't want an xi

It costs a lot of money to get the front half up to par from what I've read.

The biggest appeal to xi is traction.

It's unfortunate, but it's overlooked, fortunately I have been in contact with a few places, working on some 1-off upgrades.

You could say the RWD isn't made for the power either- hence guys snapping their axels, some with just FBO power....

To each their own- race u to the tens

Ditto. I love drag racing, however over the years and two 6MT E92s, I've realized that this car sucks at drag racing (excluding mediocre driver). When I was making 450whp, I could only cut 12.1@119-120 (37xx race weight, 1.9 60'). The more power I made, the harder it was to put it down in first and second (even on DRs).

Now, roll racing is another story. The car seems to do better from a roll than it should given its power. I mostly do rolls in Mexico.

If you can get the stuff great but it isn't easily available bolt on. As to rwd snapping axled those are guys who don't set up the rear to avoid wheelhouse. It's not the power, it's the rear bouncing around. Subdrame bushings, rear different locks own etc all off the shelf items cure that. I wish Bmw had made the Xi front bulletproof. I'm down with 4wd but they didn't. My next dream car is a Nissan gtr.

XI here and goal is just 11's and a nice looking ride. DD has scared me away from the 10's. Hahaha

Dream car is a 911 Turbo S. GTR is a Nissan!

True. I mean dream car I can afford. One I can't afford maybe a Ferrari F40 or new Aventador. If it's a Porsche a 997 GT2 RS. Classics would be an original 427 cobra, '67 Corvette L88, '71 Hemi 'Cuda, '62 Ferrari 250 GTO, or a Jaguar XKSS.
