Just come over from the dark side...

Picked up my E90 320d M-Sport titanium silver with autobox, bluetooth etc etc on Friday (4100 miles on teh clock).......originally looked at a 318D E91 but at the last minute changed my mind to the saloon based on the additional extras over teh touring's on sale....right choice, only time will tell.????

I've spent all afternoon claying and Zymoling the car (only managed the bonnet and and drivers side beforeit got dark) and the paint doesn't have bling when cleaned properly

I'm already looking at the tuning boxesI would prefer to have the car sitting at the 200bhp over stock although in stock it'sit can shift when teh turbo kicks in

I've got a soft spot for the VW/Audi range however I have always fancied the idea of rear wheel drive and now that I have drove the car about 60miles I must admit that BMW's wins in terms of driver appeal against the equivalent VW/Audi efforts i.e. A4 passat and unlikely to go back again to VW/Audi unless someone drops an RS4 on the driveway although for smile factor my Vr6 Corrado is still the dog's danglers

Welcome Stevie!

I am about to make the same transition from a Mark V Golf GTi to an E92 BMW - there are plenty on here that have moved from VW/Audi to BMW - and a few more that are going back the other way - all good motors imo. I'm looking forward to the rear-wheel drive sensation - I really enjoyed my test drive!

Hey Mate.

How about a e92 m3 too? I was after an rs4 (had a bad experince with a TT which put me off audi for years) before I bought a new 335i m sport (what an amazing car), had a go in a e92 m3, and I want one so bad now! waiting for the DSG gear box and a lottery win would help

Welcome to this forum and the blue propeller!

It's quite funny there's a petrol head in my work and when I told him I'd got the BMW he said that the car park in work used to be like a "VW forecourt now it's like a Beemers". It's funny how peoples attitude and tastes change. I was tempted with another A6 but after Audi's last performance when they told me I'd need to wait 2 weeks before they could replace my old turbo I didn't even bother going in for a test drive this time around.....We'll see how the stealers of BMW perform

All beemers share the same DNA - driving plesure

i think top gear hit the nail on the head when they reviewed the e90 a number of years back. Todays society is now so image conscious and thats good news for BMW, merc, etc. it does mean that BMW and co are selling so much more its does detract from the brands exclusivity but not to its prestige IMO

Maybe with the cost of motoring and the credit cruch things will change - good news for ford, vauxhall etc

anyhow enough of my ramblings enjoy the motor!

I did the same, although had an R32 for about 5 months in between and have to say the Gti was the best car I've ever owned, bang for buck it was just incredible.
