Premium Gas
Hey guys I just got a 2010 BMW 335xi and was wondering if anyone knew what gas stations sell good quality premium gas? I've never owned a high performance car that needed it, thanks guys.

Honestly I don't think there is a noticeable difference. I just wouldn't go to "Pa's gas and beef jerky" over a Shell station.

i don't believe there will be a noticeable difference as far as performance goes. That being said i am a strong believer that good quality fuel has a lot to do with longevity.
For that reason i will never use discount fuel mom and pops gas stations, Arco, Valero etc. Personally nothing ever touches my car other than Shell, Chevron, and in a pinch 76. I drive approx 50k miles+ a year so engine longevity is very important. In my experience having been a customer of whatever station crossed my path fuels definitely do affect longevity especially the fuel system. My 1st 2 cars i used primarily Arco since it was the cheapest of course. Well i ended up going thru quite a few fuel pumps and constant injector cleanings. One day my dad's longtime BMW mechanic buddy told me to stop using "that crap" in his own words... being young i took his word for gospel. Needless to say that ever since making the switch exclusively to Shell or Chevron i have never had 1 fuel related issue on any of my cars. My previous 2 cars (Nissan Sentra, Lexus IS300) have over 280k miles on the clock and still run smooth as ever. No fuel issues to date. Of course i don't attribute everything to the fuel regular maintenance with high quality oils like Mobil1 is essential as well. My E90 is currently at 157k and still running strong. |

I only go to Shell and put 91. I have done numerous tests between Chevron and Shell, and I get more MPG with Shell.
My choice for you would be Shell. I am going to try out Costco for a bit since their gas is dirt cheap and I've heard good stuff about them. |
