E92 coming soon....my first post!
Hi guys, just joined the site, thought i'd share with you my news......
I have an E46 328i 1999 saloon auto leather etc etc...I love it. Last year in November while having mechanical work done to it, parked outside the garage, someone spun and drove into my car smashed my rear wheel and suspension......made me think TIME FOR A CHANGE!!!! Had in mind to get a newer E46 probably a 2003/4 330....but then the Insurance company agents (Help Hire) roll up with an 07 plate 320d E90 M sport in black as a courtesy car. Well i thought I loved my car....this was another league and I never had a diesel before it opened my eyes, refenment, handling, power ......and fuel economy....better than the 240 or so miles per tank I get on the beloved 328 !!!! So I start looking around for an E90 and stumbled across a lease / purchase (always paid cash before), having played with some figures decided I could get a brand new 320d E92.....COOL ! ! ! Started playing with the Finance/Broker calculator and to my amazement discovered I could go a bit further.....A LOT FURTHER. I have ordered the following: E92 335d M sport Sparkling Graphite Standard 18" Wheels Jade Grey Pro Nav Bluetooth USB/Ipod Electric & Heated Seats etc etc........ It is due for delivery on an 08 plate on 3/3/08....not long to go and can't wait!!!! Can you believe I am gonna get a £40k car....and I havent even driven a tester yet .... Any of you wanna give me an idea of what to expect?????? Scott ps I am selling the E46, wheres the best pace to advertise????? |

Welcome Scott!
Another one with 2 weeks of sleepless nights! I am awaiting a sparkling graphite 335 'i' rather than 'd' (I will regret that at the pumps for sure!) and am getting v excited! Enjoy the forum - lots of good folks on here |

Welcome Scott! Excellent choice of car
I'm absolutley sure you'll be swamped with rave reviews on the 335d (me included). Loads of effortless smooth power, bags of torque, great auto box and they handle pretty good too. Sure Carlos will provide you with plenty of info. using adjectives you've never heard of |

Welcome and congratulations!!
335d has got rave reviews, as I'm sure u know! Seems our cars will be arriving round the same time!! Only, your 335 will kinda demolish my 325i In terms of advertising, I reckon Autotrader is the best bet seeing as you get a huge range of buyers and its really quite simple. This will be the longest 3-4 weeks of your life! (So i've heard) TSL |

Hi Scott, welcome.
Great engine, body colour, and leather colour choice. One thing you might want to consider is the Aluminium trim. I felt that it made the cabin look very cold with the grey leather. I am not a fan of wood trim but I picked the dark grey poplar wood as it is the least 'woody' of the woods and looks very well with the jade grey - IMO Anyway good luck and try not to get too frustrated with the waiting game.

Thanks for the welcome everyone.
I had considered the wood trim but I quite like the 'clinical' look lol. One thing I did want to ask, on my current E46 I have the 18"MV alloys- and they are like magnets to the kerbs, have had them refini9shed twic an are now kerbed again, its because the rim sits proud of the rubber. Are the 18" M sport wheels the same? Its the reason I didnt go for the 19" (and the 'harder' ride). Or am I just crap at parking??????? |

Welcome Scott and great choice of car mate. I have had mine for 5wks and have no regrets. You can expect sledgehammer torque giving you unrelenting overtaking capability, seen usually in supercars. And a level of refinement which puts the E92 in a different league to the E46 (which i previously owned).
You've got a top spec, just be prepared to live through the longest wait of your life. |

The wheels? I went for the 225M 19" but its a question of choice at the end of the day. They are a nightmare to clean though, easier to give someone else the job |

scott, it's only a suspicion but in certain circumstances in previous cars if I just touch a kerb and no more - say in a low speed turn, the normal tyres usually hit rather than the edge of the alloy because they "stuck out" at the edge of the rim. Run flats are stiffer and offer no protection to the rim as they appear to be flush on my non m-sport and the slightest touch or graze - yep, that's your alloy getting marked...
