Will I need a complete respray?
I had my car shipped from the Us to Spain and after a nightmare of Spanish bureaucracy and incompetence I finally got access to my car.
My biggest fear came true, there was several scratches/spots with missing paint on the car. The one in the picture is by far the biggest one, about the size of a nickel at least. It's not a dent, but the paint is scratched all the way down to the metal at a couple of spots within the "chip". Looks to be an intential act as apparently there were no marks as the car was offloaded the ship, but then it sat for 42 days. So my question is, and I am afraid I already know the answer, will I have to repaint the entire rear quarter panel to not have a mismatch in the paint? ![]() ![]() Last edited by M0.92; 06-04-2015 at 01:58 AM.. |

I talked to a paint shop in Sweden next to my parent's house who thinks they can blend this damage, no need for a complete respray of the panel. I was planning on using them for some other paint work anyways, so may go that route.

No matter what though, the deductible is $500 and the cost to fix it in Sweden would be around $250. As much as it sucks, I think I'm just gonna eat the cost. |
