Parking brake shoe clearance issue

I replaced my parking brake shoes and noticed two things:

1) Seems there is a clearance issue, there was some resistance removing the rotors. (ebrakes were released and rotors are free to move)
2) Something (maybe related to the clearance issue?) ate the inner side and centermost part of it.

After replacement, I'm having a grinding noise issue, seems from the parking brake shoes grinding the inside of the rotor.

Rotor looked pretty bad, so I'm picking up new Zimmerman now but want to know if it'll solve the clearance issue. Otherwise, what can I do to solve it.

They're adjustable.

Forgot to mention I ajuste the tensionner to max release setting and still have the issue.

shoes aren't centered.

I've had issues with non-OE rotors having different internal diameters on other cars, I'd check that against a stock rotor

Not sure how to center it more, the spring retainers are correctly aligned with the matching holes. It might be the brake dust cover, there was a spot where the dirt/paint was scratched away.I bended it a bit (dont want to break it) the noise is still there but not as loud, might be it.

For me it was the retaining ring (the little one where the shoes slide) that was rubbing on the inside of the rotor. Took me 15 minutes on each side bending it, putting the rotor back on, bending it again, etc. until the grinding went away completely.

That rotor looks trashed...

Why did you need to replace the parking brake shoes? I can't imagine them ever wearing out in the life of the car unless you do a lot of hand brake drifts.

Finally it really was the dust shield, bent it some more and no more noise.

I replaced the shoes because they were only squeaking when parking brakes were applied and car would any vertical movement such as stepping out of the car. Maybe previous owner did such thing as parking brake drifts. From what I read, higher torque cars clutch drift with LSD is the way to do it.

Yeap rotor looks pretty bad, not sure what caused it. The outside part looked ok with a little lip though, never knew until I removed it. Dont want the same to happen to the new ones.
