6HP19/21 Transmission HELP~
Hello ,
I recently changed the transmission pan, mechatronic sleeve, and fluid, but I now have run into a couple problem and wondering if you guys can help me with them. I have a 2007 BMW 335i Coupe (JB4, DP, DCI, Exhaust), after driving for 10-15 mins after the fluid and pan change a lot of error lights came on (amber brake lights, DSC, amber transmission warning with exclamation mark). With the drive, the transmission seems to be stuck in gear 2 or 3 and would not shift. Sometimes the transmission would slip and sometimes transmission not get into gear and feel like a stall with no power. The next day, cold start there is no errors at all. Car drives smooth, all gears working and no slip whatsoever. But again after 10-15 mins of driving all the errors came back, and same scenario with the transmission where it is put into transmission limp mode with slips and stalls. I tried several cold start within the next few days and it is the same scenario after 10-15 mins of driving. I did some search online and checked the voltage with car engine on and off and all seems to be normal. So I don't think its the alternator or the battery. I read the code with JB4 and my mechanic read the error codes and got the following CDAD - Wheel Torque Request CD87 - Powertrain CAN communication error CD99 - Torque request EGS CD9D - Gearbox data CD9E - Gearbox data 2 The mechanic tried to clear all the codes and it would just come back. But this time, I started to see amber ABS light, the ABS light and DSC would go on and off, but the amber brake and amber transmission warning with exclamation mark always remains. I thought this extremely strange, because on cold start everything is fine. I don't understand why it only happens after 10-15 mins of driving. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you |

Well then the only other thing that changed was the mechatronics sleeve. There is probably a problem with the install. I know it has to go in a particular way and it can be hard to get the connector back on correctly.

no problems at all, just slight leakage from the pan, but no transmission problems or slipping issues |

errors would indicate a communications issue with the trans, so going to go with Mechatronics connection also, either loose or a damaged pin.
Taking 15 minutes may mean that a little heat builds up and things move and change size a little and it is enough for the connector to loose connection (or could just be bumps in the road causing it to loose connection - sounds like it just needs to be a little tighter).
