Alphabet delete, stage 2, exhaust etc.

Couple more pics of our progress. We did carbon blasting a few weeks ago. Now the alphabet delete, moving the methanol tank to the def tank, new exhaust and a trailer hitch. Wheels going on today or tomorrrow.

Looks good. I suggest checking that tailpipe clearance though, looks like its a little close, could melt that bumper in no time.

Are those resonators or cats just downstream of the Y pipe? Wow, this is really nice exhaust work. Is it custom and where do I need to go to get this same exhaust? Good lookin stuff there!!

Love the shot of the boy helping! And the (I presume) Cummins powered truck in the background. And what is that little white mini go-kart looking thing?

exhaust

The exhaust is the cheap ebay unit shown on the VAG dyno day video, ebay #151260844166 Fits pretty good, we did have to make the custom 3" to dual 2 1/2" y-pipe but it wasn't too bad.

My helper's name is Connor, he's 10. That's his racing kart, he races on the road course at Barnesville, GA. The cummins is just a vehicle we are working on here at the shop (Car Stereo) to pay the bills!

Everytime I see one of those tanks I get more and more convinced that the "sensors are not replaceable" is just an EPA demand.

Very nice work.

The SCR tank works good for meth I see you're using the bottom tank, I believe that puts your pump higher than your tank outlet, you may want to look into that.

Interesting you have a connector on the urea tank that I did not have on mine. Its the last two pictures after the black car pictures. On the front side of the tank. Is this something you had added for the meth? or was it OEM?

It looks like he drilled the hole and added that connector.

I drilled the tank and added the methanol level sender for the AEM system. The upper and lower tanks are now connected directly, the system works great but I need about 2 gallons of methanol in it to keep the sensor from showing low methanol.

Interesting. So filling one actually fills both? That's a good size meth tank....

Concerning the Circuit Werks kit you bought from ebay, what is the gauge (or wall thickness) of the tubing? Would you consider fabricating the Y pipe for me If i bought the kit and shipped the two forward pipes out to you? I found a supplier that makes nice Y pipes but they have 16 and 18 gauge stuff. Not sure which is needed for the ebay kit. I went to ebay listing but can't find way to ask then same wall thickness question.

I just measured the leftover pieces from my exhaust build. They come out to about 1.25 mm, so roughly 18 gauge.

I personally don't think there would be enough difference between the 16 and 18 gauge to matter when welding. That is as long as everything else is equal (O.D., steel grade, etc)
