Worst luck today

Hey guys
A month ago I got rear ended, it was a 3 way hit. Im still waiting for the panel beater to book my assessment but Anywho
This morning was driving home and a road sign fell down and the car infront of me ran it over
Which made it flip upwards along with the board, I couldn't dodge it so I ended up hitting it.
Car is dripping coolant and oil now

Just wanted to ask if you guys think it's worth repairing? Any other alternatives?

Cheers broskies.

Depends what the market value of the car is, and what mechanical repairs are needed.

If Pommie335i's damage was 5-6k, this could easily be written off depending on your insurer/repairer.

How did the sign fall down? You can try contacting the department which manages the road. If their sign was poorly maintained causing it to fall down then you may have a case.

I have heard of a man making a claim that a piece of concrete fell off the bridge and chipped his windscreen. Although highly unlikely they paid for damages because it wasn't worth the time and money contesting it.

get as many pics as possible!!!

You definately shouldnt have to pay for this, if that pole fell down and killed someone who would be liable? Write all the details down, did you get any witness's? and go and talk to a lawyer.

Most lawyer's dont charge a consultancy fee, but you definately should have a case

THIS, I cracked a rim once on a pot hole, explained that this pothole had gotten bigger over time and nobody fixed it, and council payed for a rim!

I've taken my car to repair, but yeah I contacted the council who is responsible for the area yet again they refuse to accept the fact it was they're fault.
I could hire a lawyer for this open case.. Hmm

You need to threaten legal action, show them your photos and give a full written statement, not just make a phone call.

Get some legal council while you're out and about. I guess you send them the bill to pay for?

Your insurance co should be seeking the council etc to pay their repair bill, did you talk to your insurer about that?
