Options for spare tire for e90 335d
My 335d has the Champion BU66 17" tires with bmw rims. Since they are not the original fun flats, as i just got the car, what are my options if I have flat. I dont have a spare nor any sort of quick fix options like some auto places sell to refill the air and drive to safe place. I do have CAA etc.

Buy a spare tire kit. It has everything you will need. I am going this same direction with my 2011 335d.

Where would you store that? My 335d has no room unless I just take up space in the trunk. I'm going to keep a small plug in air compressor and a tire patch kit. Will help with basic nail holes, etc. But if a sidewall goes, or something larger through the treads that can't be patched, I'm toast. All that said, I can't remember the last time I had a flat in any of my vehicles. Of course now I'll get one... |

Do what the M cars do. Get a Slime mobility kit. Consists of Slime, valve removal tool and a 12 volt compressor.
I have new run flats on my new to me car but I will go that route when I wear them out. You can throw in a tire plug kit and a portable air tank if you like. The tank takes up a little space but nowhere near what a spare does. Check Amazon.ca. Even though they will tell you it doesn't fit your car, ignore it. The top notch automatic unit is about $90 but you can get the standard unit for around $40 Last edited by Ti317; 06-22-2015 at 09:17 PM.. |
