Front spacers - Good or Bad?

I put 15mm spacers on the rear of my car and now i'm going for the same flush look on the fronts.

If I remember correctly the front 19" CSL reps came w/ et40 in the front so I'm thinking 10mm would be a good fit (et30 as a result).

Are front spacers a problem?? Would it effect the stability of the car at all or the alignment?

Right now my car is at the shop getting an alignment as well as some cosmetic mods, would it need to be realigned?

Here is a pic of Long Trans car w/ et28 in the front which he says is not rubbing. I think it looks great.

Make sure to get hubcentric spacers like H&R that also also hubcentric to your wheel. What I mean by this is the extra lip that is machined into the spacer so that the wheel will sit on this lip. 10mm should be fine and you won't need to realign your car once you slip on the spacers. Make sure to get extended lug bolts with what ever kit you choose to buy.

My 19x8.5 ET28 at front did not rub with H&R sport springs, but after dropping it a little lower with coilovers, and having the front aligned, the left front rubbed a little bit. Depends on how low you want to go, brand of wheel and tire, etc.

a rim width of 8.5' with o/s between 35 to 40 is perfect for the front...if you intend to run 245s on the front I would recommend 35 o/s just as an extra guarantee against rubbing against components in the wheel well esp. on turning.. I would not recommend anything more aggressive than this. I personally see spacers, hubcentric or not, as a last last resort as the risks outweigh the benefit..

As long as your lug bolts are torqued down properly, I do not see any risks whatsoever in using quality machined hubcentric spacers.

H&R includes quality longer lug bolts with their spacer kits. I've never heard of problems with their extended lug bolts

However, I don't know of any company that produces specialized hardened lug bolts. I'm still on the prowl for something like this. Many of those who autocross will install hardened wheel studs on their BMW's and then use lug nuts instead of lug bolts, but I'm searching for companies that sell specialized lug bolts. Anyone know of any?

I had 15mm spacers front and rear and I didn't really like it, it tramlined and handled like shit on the rough new england roads, also it seems I have to pull the wheel much harder to turn, so my so called turn ins (I guess that's what this is called) seemed to diminish. I'm thinking about just using them in the rear and see if it's any better...if the tramlining continues I'll take both out and go with stock set up.
