downpipes intall,check engine

Hey, i just ordered my cat-less downpipes and people tell me that once i put them on i need to get some kind of a chip to keep the check engine light off. Could some1 help me out with that? plus im gettin the dp map from aa autowerks, will that take care of it?

PS. does any1 have the map? if so would some1 send it to me?

Thanks for your help

Its not a chip.It has to do with the 02 sensors.Talk to your tuner and he will hook you up.

yep I got the O2 simms from Burger.....looks to be an easy install. It will go in the same time as my downpipes which are catless. Should keep me happy until shiv releases the procedes fix.

You asked AA for a dp tune and they said they would give you one...i still have the xede, uninstalled, and asked them numerous times for a dp tune or fmic and dp tune and they kept giving me the run around. They kept saying they were gonna send it and email it to me, but never did....i got tired of asking. if you do get it let me know, good luck though....youll have to hound them for it.

has anyone tried the "spacers" with any success.

I'm keen to eliminate the need for an ECU solution just in case I have to take the car in without Procede attached.

My tuner has suggested simply extending the sensors to join the exhaust after the secondary cats, but Again, I'm keen to avoid that if I can simply use the original sensors + a spacer.

People have tried extending the o2 sensors away from the flow of exhaust but on the newer ECU units it is still throwing a code....

You can either buy the o2 simms from TB, or wait for shiv to enable it on the PROcede.....

Looks like I'm gonna have to extend the sensors back behind the stock secondary cats then. Only about a metre more cable so should work ok.

If your going catless just get Terry's sims. I dont think relocating the factory O2 sensors will work for you.

+1... I agree with you there. I know for a fact that I wouldn't remove downpipes from my car if I needed to bring it in for service and having anything tapped into my ECU harness, regardless of what it is, would just be asking for trouble with most of the tard SA's out there.

I know that one member from south africa, the guy with the meth injection (I can't remember his name), said that he had spacers that were like "mini-cats" that actually worked. I'll try to look for the thread.

*edit* It was "M&M" who installed them. Here is the thread...
http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...hlight=catless

I don't know if they are just anti-fouler spacers or if they are actually something else, but it seems that these guys probably aren't shipping them from what I read in that thread.

It'll work. This was common practice for 2.7t S4's and it worked like a charm. Got the HP gains of removing the first set of cats and kept the air clean by keeping the functioning second set.

Right ok will interrogate M&M for Spacers first then investigate extending the sensors behind cats number 2.

Would go for the sims, like terry's but I want that ECU area cleared in case it has to go in.

Extending the O2 cables at the back will not make sense.
