Fuel Cleaner?

My car is at almost 60k miles. I got the car pre-owned and I drove almost 10k on it. My car is starting to take longer to start up. I have a feeling that my fuel pump is going out soon. I might want to put some fuel system cleaner to see if it would fix or ease the problem? Any suggestions on what fuel system cleaners are good? I was thinking of bg44k.

Do a site/board search for Chevron and/or Techron. It might have been in the general section.

There is a whole article that gives engineering details on what to use.

I pour an ounce of this in the tank with every fill up. Consistently gets me 1mpg more when I use it lol Read the first review on this page to find out more:

Chevron all the way, it's what BMW sells, uses and recommends. Usually it's on sale someplace too. Check amazon, and slickdeals.net too. Costco also sells it.

Every 5k or so should be fine, esp if you use good gas. Dont overdo it, may contaminate the oil.

O in any case it wont fix a fuel pump

Your better off cleaning the intake valves and then doing a chevron fuel injector cleaner. Most people on this forum would agree that every 35 to 50k you should clean the intake valves. You have two options. One, old fashioned gun cleaning kit scrub coupled with a cleaner like brake cleaner or Seafoam. Two, walnut blast. The fact that it takes longer to start up could be a lot of things. Battery could be starting to go. Starter motors on a 335i are sort of unheard of going bad.

Used both BG44k and Techron Concentrate
Equally good.
But in my test and could be totally wrong here....BG44K lasted longer.
Anyone else notice that too?

My test was to see how long before I start hearing slight miss fires on cold starts.
