Help! I dropped the tail light clip into my trunk panel, can't get it out or replace
So i'm an idiot. When replacing bulbs in my 2007 sedan's inner tail light, the little clip thing fell into a hole in the trunk's panel. I don't know how to get it out, and I can't find a replacement part number. Do you guys have any suggestions for either?

i think the purpose it to keep the light secured from the inside. right now the inner tail light pops out if a pull on it with the trunk closed.

If you can't find someway to fish it out, I'd try to find something to work in it's place. Maybe modify a metal or plastic bracket in the size of the clip.
I know how frustrated you must feel, I had to replace a cornering light a few weeks ago, and dropped the spring clip that holds the light in place into the headlight housing. I couldn't fish it out with a magnet, none of the local shops had anything, and I couldn't find a part number for it here or online. A paperclip wouldn't have had the right tension on it to stay in place. One thread I read where the same thing happened to another guy, the only advice given was to try to find one at a junk yard. I ended up removing the headlight assembly and shaking it until it fell out. Two hours spent for something that should've taken five minutes. |

Go fishin' with a wire coat hanger. Bend it to make a little hook on the end.

I did this when installing depo blacklines. The blacklines came with their own clips so didnt need to fish it out but when I drive at speed i can hear it drop back down. Try that. Or drive up on some ramps and shake the boot lid with the light removed.
