rb inlet 299 vtt 399

Cheaper inlets announced on another forum.

Rb announced new inlets available in a month or so with options of recirculation bungs and adapter for 2+ turbos.
group buy 279

$399 for VTT is a group buy price, so I have cancelled mine.

The price may go back up or stay at this price later on.

I'm waiting to see what the RB inlets looks like, as he hasn't even completed the sample design

a post I read from Rob is that they both use the same supplier for the silicone would be fair similar by the sounds of it but at cut throat prices

Yup!

Quote:
The VTT inlets actually look pretty good. The biggest beef we have with them is the 2" ID silicone ends that are intended to slip over a 1.75" OD compressor housing snout. This would be well and good, assuming that for whatever reason silicone was not offered in 1.75" IDs and we just had to do what we had to do. The thing is that it is offered in 1.75" ID's, so we will use what fits the best by utilizing 1.75" ends with an immediate upward taper.

But yeah, the price is soon to get a lot better and there are soon to come quite a few improvements overall with the product. They will be very tricked out soon.

Will these have the same fitment issues as the other inlets for our RHD cars?

I'd choose RB over VTT all day, even without seeing them.

VRSF have thrown their hat into the ring and will be offering a TFT/MPP solution for mid $2XX USD also!

At that price, my guess is that they will look like the MMP kit.

This exactly. I am jumping on the GB. Rob has confirmed fitment for RHD as well. Anyone else in Sydney keen, maybe we can split the shipping. Let me know.

Mate at this price I'm keen, but having said that I'm keen to check out the VRSF offering also and see if they can come up with a RHD fitment (I doubt it but I'm sure they know how popular it will be if a RHD fitment can be made available)

With all these crazy prices, I feel sorry for JD! He's spent a lot of time in developing a kit that will most likely only be taken up by the baller N54 owners now all these budget price offerings are hitting the marketplace

For sure, it couldn't be as nice as the TFT at that price!

At the end of the day some guys will be happy if it provides a good sound and power gains and really most of the inlet system is tucked away out of sight anyway.

I always wondered why there were no N54 hard pipe or silicon kits coming from a jdm background all the evo gtr boys ran them, now the time has come

Has anyone done a dyno on stock turbos to see what the gain is with the MMP TFT VTT?

I'm guessing the gains would be marginal, and I'm most likely going to wait until I'm ready to upgrade the turbos and do an inlet kit in conjunction with the new turbos, but having said that if they provide a decent gain well I must just stick with the oem turbos until they die

Around 20-30hp gains on stock turbo with any of the inlets.

I'm on the RB list

That's a decent gain and great BFYB, with install costs it would be <$1k?

I'm pushing out between 320-330rwkw and with another 20-30HP well it would hardly be lacking in power for a weekender street car
