quick JB4/flash questions

Gotta get my car smogged :/

Finally replaced my thermostat (another ordeal) and cleared the check engine light. Switched to map 0, turned to 1-4 autoclear off, going to drive for a week or two and try and smog it.

Funny thing is, even tho I'm fbo, my car has never thrown cat codes, even with autoclear off. I've heard that happens sometimes, but I've also heard some flashes have them disabled. So you won't get a check engine light, but it also won't pass readiness. I'm currently running the jb pump gas flash another forum member was nice enough to install for me before a dyno day last August.

Is there a way to easily test for readiness? Would be nice to know before dragging my car in there and paying money to fail I have jb4 g5 iso w/usb, laptop running jb4 app, jb4 mobile app for android, some cheap obd-2 dongle off ebay.... any ideas?

Go to AAP, Pep boys, Autozone, etc. hookup the OBD code reader and check for I/M monitors readiness.

they don't loan em out in CA anymore, some stupid law passed because auto repair shops have expensive lobbyists :/

I should be able to find an android app that works with my dongle, I was just wondering if there's any way to check thru the jb4

You can buy one that'll do what you need for probably $40 on Amazon. But the JB4 can't give readiness info if needed.

I managed to hook up an ebay obd-2 dongle to the Torque app, and got the following message (just reset readiness earlier)

Since I just cleared it, I'm sure I haven't gotten all the cycles yet. My question is, how do I know if the "incomplete" is due to not going thru enough cycles, or if it's actually failing? If it fails, will I for certain get a check engine light? Because I've never seen one, nor has the car shown a code for it (I have had a CEL for the past couple months with a failed thermostat, showed on the codes when I scanned. Just fixed it hence the clear)

Appreciate any insight, thanks!
