Which jb4 is this?

I bought the stage 2 off a member on here but I thought the jb4 had the bigger square box. Can you guys enlighten me?

That is a jb4..I can't tell exactly if it is harness A or B...mine is a B..from what I see it looks similar...the box is small and it fits into one of the holes in the ECU box.

Take a better pictures of the connections. They look like JB4 connections but the box looks like a JB stage 1 box

Yeah, I think Mike is right..from looking at the burger website the box you have looks smooth while the jb4 box looks to have ripples in it. Compare the pics on the website.

There is a larger case available for thermal issues. The older JB4 stage 2's came with that case. It looks like you have four connectors on the harness as well as the CAN and power wires which would indicate it is a stage 2.

You can order the larger case from Burgertuning: http://www.burgertuning.com/N55_JB4_upgrades.html

They also have a pretty badass billet aluminum case for it too.

Makes sense. Connections definitely look like a JB4 ones.

That is the case I have with my JB4. Just open it and look at the board if you want to confirm

No need to see the board you can tell the JB4 from the JB by just comparing the connections.

Why don't you post a pic with all the connectors clearly laid out so it is easy to tell..there are also two different harnesses of jb4 so you have to make sure you have the right one for your car as well.

Cool, thanks guys. I was just confirming because I thought the stage 2 comes with the big box. Just making sure I didn't get ripped off. It has all the extra connectors and Usb

The JB4 was shipped with the smaller box at one point so it just could be an old one. Take the casing off and take a picture of the board itself and post it up.

Thats not true. At one point the Stage1 and Stage2 (JB4) shared the exact same harness and wiring. You just didn't install some of the connections.

It looks like an older version of JB4. Those older JB4 and Stage 1 can look similar at times. BMS won't tell you either since you are buying second hand. When in doubt, by new. Mike @N54 is likely the resident expert on BMS products. I'd go with whatever he says it is.

Not necessarily. Like mentioned above the stage1 use to ship with all wiring so you could easily upgrade to stage2.

Picture of the board itself will tell you. Its very obvious as the boards look nothing alike. (Stage1 versus JB4)
