Non genuine ABS sensors - anyone used one?
One of my rear ABS sensors is faulty as it is ready half the speed of the other sensors, I have rang BMW and they quoted £90 for a sensor, looking at non genuine ones they are nearer the £20 mark which is a big difference, has anyone gone for a non genuine sensor or is it worth sticking with an OEM one?

I've used quite a few of the £10-15 ebay ones on other cars, i've had one fail out of the 6 or 7 i've used.
Ofcourse i'm fitting them myself at which point the gamble is another 10 quid and half an hour to swap it again if it fks up. |

This link is useful when locating the right sensor. I've ordered a meyle one as I'm having the same dilemma at the moment. I thought I'd take my chances with a brand I'd heard of rather than go eBay special cheap/ or premium OEM costs! We'll See. |

I ordered 2 at £20 each as I predicted it'd fail fairly quickly...
Upon inspection I found that the reluctor ring inside had swollen nicely and was rubbing the old one which I think had caused the failure, but fitted a new one regardless as I haven't the money nor time to fix the reluctor rings... Cheapy ABS sensor has been fitted for 7 months now and no fault as of yet, apart from when hitting large potholes or large speed bumps a little quickly the TCS will flash for a moment |

Fitted the sensor yesterday and my fault went away I immediately. I guess the real test will be the longevity of the sensor. I must say I have never had an issue with decent branded non OEM part and they are normally far more fairly priced than rip off dealer prices.
