Fitting m3 wheel to my 335 se, do I need a new airbag?

As above really, I'm looking to ditch my standard se wheel for and m3 one but there seems to be conflicting info regarding the need to replace the airbag also? If it makes any difference my car is an e92 se fitted with the wheel with two chrome strips on the side and paddle shifts. I've seen some refer to it as an se sport wheel and say the airbag will fit and some say the m3 wheel requires an different airbag. Anyone done the swap and could confirm either way?

This appears to be the current wheel I have, airbag looks similar to m3 ones I've seen pictured?

It's a direct replacement. I've gone from SE to sport and then M3 and also changed from the standard push/pull paddles to DCT ones and again it was just straight forward plug and play.

Airbag is the same.

If you're getting the same E92 wheels they will fit with no issues including the bag

The only point of difference is the Auto Paddles and manual obviously with no paddles

It's a straight swap I've got an M3 paddle wheel on mine, no issues at all and it's a much nicer feel too with a thicker rim, plus paddles that are so much better to use than the standard push/pull affair

AFAIK the only one thats different is the early, really ugly SE wheel that doesnt have the chrome bits and has an obviously much larger airbag.

Thanks gents that's handy to know. So next question, i understand that the lci wheels have a different shape cutout for the paddles. If I get an lci wheel will my pre lci paddles fit on it ( or even m3 pre lci paddles? ) or will I need the later ones?
