N55 Code 2C57 - no boost leak!?
Ok, I need some help. I have a 2011 335i xdrive w/ manual, stock except for factory performance tune (don't worry it was one the car when I bought it). It has 80k miles. I recently got a half check engine light, I pulled the code and was given this:
Fault: Charge pressure control, plausibility: Pressure too low Code: 2C57 I looked around online and figured it was the charge pipe. I ordered and installed the Cobb charge pipe. Still have the same problem. Tonight I performed a boost leak test, and up to 10psi it didn't have a leak. Anyone have an idea what it might be? Most of the stuff I can find online with the same code, usually ends up having to do with a JB4 or Accessport. I would appreciate any help. If I can't figure it out I'll have to take it in to get it diagnosed. |

I got the 2C57 error code a while back and it turned out to be a bad wastegate sensor (may be the pressure converter noted in the description below but not sure). Not sure this is your issue though. I got the code at WOT and high revs. I thought it may have been a boost leak at first but checked all the intake related couplers and they were attached correctly. Could also be a boost pressure sensor per below. If you are under warranty, you should have bmw service look at it.
The 2C57 Description is "Charge-air pressure control, lower value: Boost pressure too low. Potential problem source(s):- Boost-pressure sensor defective- Defective electropneumatic pressure converter in wastegate valve- Wastegate valve is defective (seized in open position)- Air-induction tract between turbocharger and intake-air plenum has leak". |

Do you possibly have the part number for either or both the boost sensor or the wastegate sensor? Thanks! |

Coolness, FTW, great to hear you fixed the issue! I'll take an IPA LOL, actually it was a very frustrating experience for me so being able to pass on info that helped makes me feel better about it

Got the same code yesterday, pretty sure I don't actually have a leak because I'm hitting 20+ PSI but I got the code just as I let off during a high speed run. Was tuning for E50 and the car was pulling like a rocket, hopefully just a fluke.

What tune are you running? JB4? I started to get this code while on light throttle/load. trying to figure out if its the jb4, BEF, or the sensor.

^ Custom Cobb tune. done myself. Kinda thinking I may have actually have the leak now, one of the couplers on my charge pipe looked a bit off. Not quite hitting the same boost numbers that I was before I got the code. I think when I shifted into 4th I spiked well over 21 PSI and it came loose.
I'll re-seat everything when I replace my meth nozzle. |

Bumping for google index because there aren't too many online records of this issue:
2011 N55 335i coupe e92lci - In my case, no change of engine bay sound at all. - Half engine light when building boost above ~3k rpm. - Loss of low end and high end power, degraded fuel efficiency - Active DME codes (need bmw specific scanner to read): 2C57 - Charging pressure control, plausibility Pressure too low. 387F - Power management: Standby current violation. - Replaced the pressure converter: Genuine BMW - 11747626351 - Pneumatic Wastegate Actuator - Issue resolved, full boost restored. |

Just a heads up, I changed the pressure converter (and even the turbo) and STILL get this code under light throttle.
I have a feeling it won't go away until I take the JB4 out. |

Same exact problem I had. Replaced stock charge pipe and still threw codes. Took off JB4 and worked perfectly. Just flashed MHD 1+ yesterday, so much better for your money bro. Burble effects are amazing also

So I have the same issue. I've replaced my pressure converter with a revised part from BMW because it was cracked but still get the limp mode after I get into boost or hard acceleration. Then when I get into limp mode and accelerate the car sputters alot. Injectors are fairly new, plugs and coils are new. Smoke test was preformed but didn't find anything. Can any one give me some advice? 11' 335i N55.

I had this issue come up a while ago. Check engine light that would come on at seemingly random times, but mostly when accelerating on to highways. Car never actually felt weak though. Pulled codes and 2C57 came up for charge pressure too low. Took it to the dealership and they found that the issue was a kinked EPKS hose to the valve cover. It was an easy/cheap fix. Happened at ~47.5k miles, now at ~60k.

I think you are referring to the electropneumatic pressure converter hoses. Or in laymen's terms, the wastegate control solenoid hoses

Just an FYI that I have the same issue. Replaced the WG actuator, the whole turbo itself AND tried running on just 91 for awhile. Checked, double and triple checked for boost leaks.
I can make the code happen on demand under light throttle now. I'm 90% sure this mystery code will magically disappear when I take the JB4 out of the car... |

Just found out that the valve cover was cracked... apparently not enough vacuum to regulate the wastegate in the turbo, that's at least what the tech told me. I'm trying to find out if this has any correlation with the boost leak.
