JB4 Back End Flash Users with MHD

Hi All, I just tried something that I know a lot of the Euro guys have already done.

I used the tuner pro difference tool to copy over all defined values from my slightly tweaked E85 BMS flash, to my Stock BIN. I kept all undefined values that were original to my stock BIN.

Wow what a difference it made , I felt like before it was pretty jerky and not as smooth at part throttle normal driving. I really do not think it is a placebo effect, it is really noticeable.

I also used the new XDF just posted to tweak some of the newly discovered idle tables and I think that may have helped some as well. the car feels great now... I recommend you try this, there is a video out there by shiv about his open flash showing using the difference tool, as well as a thread for euro users that talks about using the difference tool in tuner pro....

I remember doing this as well back in the day but I don't think it really made a difference. The only real difference in your flash and a canned flash of the same type is the VIN which can easily be changed. The new tables could have made a difference or if the canned flash you were using was corrupt then you may see an improvement.

Couldn't say for sure, other than maybe 1000 or more undefined values differed from my stock to the jb4 back end flash. I would have to say at least a few things where changed that made a noticeable difference.

Well the difference tool will only show difference in defined values so there is no way how many of the undefined values are different. Even though you can search all differences, they aren't displayed unless defined in the .xdf. As expected a lot of the tables from stock vs backend will be different.

Regardless it's quite simple to port backend changes into your stock bin so no harm doing it.

The difference tool has an option to shows values that are not defined in the XDF file. it shows the Hex value of the both files. So although you may say the canned bin should be the same its pretty obvious there were tons of differences between the BMS BIN and my Stock Bin even in areas that were not defined in the latest XDF, I saw a post a few months back that said he uses the gethub XDF so all items should be standardized on the most recent BMS Bins. The only thing left to assume is that not all I8A0S bins are the same. it maybe a little different is it was only a couple items but its probably 1000s

Who knows they could be learned functions, who really knows at this point, I just saw that the hex values were different.

the only other thing I could think of is that maybe BMS has additional tuning information on tables not released in current XDF but i thought that was not the case.
