2007 E90 VRSF Downpipes Rubbing? + Pics!

Hey guys, I recently bought a 2007 e90 335i.
Instantly I ordered BMS dci, jb4, VRSF downpipes and I will be chopping the mufflers in the near future.
Anyways, my downpipes arrived first and the install was not that difficult until i got to the downpipe/cat back joint.
The two pipes are quite tight against each other and the shorter dp is a little miss alligned.
My question is, is that normal for vrsf? Should I tighten everything up and leave it be, or loosen the short dp at the v-band to try to adjust it?

I would try loosening up the v bands and try to get it in a better position. Looks like it turned a bit.

The clocking of the downpipes is crucial. You can also get some adjustment with the mid pipes. You won't want them touching each other and also keep in mind that one pipe gets close to the sub-frame so you need to account for some motor movement.

Alright so i ended up loosening the vband on the short dp, I was able to get a big 1/8 of an inch between the joint in the pipes; however, i have a millimeter of play between the short dp and the subframe. I bolted everything up and drove the car around, no major rattling, maybe some but my wastegate rattle covers it up. Downpipes alone made such a big difference in power! I am astonished!

Worst case is loosen v bands and use a pry bar to space them

Garage List
It won't require a pry bar, just loosen the v-bands on both pipes, disconnect the mid pipes, clock the short pipe about a half inch from the sub frame, then clock the long pipe.

Every DIY downpipe install I've corrected is from incorrectly clocked pipes, if you're struggling with it I suggest bringing the car into an experienced mechanic who has installed aftermarket downpipes in the past.
