Pelicn's 335i
After reading through some of the other build threads on here i thought i would make one of mine own
![]() I have been driving a highly modified turbo 350z for the last few years i decided that i needed to move on and drive something a little more grown up, after setting myself a budget and deciding i wanted something RWD, turbo and euro the only two cars that came to mind were the 335i and 135i. Looking at both cars i just couldn't fall in love with the style of the 135i, they are a better handling and quicker car but the look of the e92 is just so sexy. After 6 months of searching the perfect manual 335i came up and carsales so i bought it the next day. The car was completely stock and for the first few months i was planning to keep it that way but after reading through these forums and seeing some of the other cars on here and how much potential this car has i couldn't resist So planned mods were, -Walnut blast -JB4 -Oil catch can -DCI's -Down pipes -Cowl Filters -Some suspension mods (car rides very soft) -LSD -Exterior mods maybe M sport rear and LCI lights Some of the pics from the day picking it up ![]() |

Good luck with it mine desperately needed it and made a big difference in responsiveness. The Walnut blast should be a service item for direct injection cars not alot of people bother with it. |

The 335 is looking great after the install of the new body kit! Seeing your pics from the day you picked it up reminded me of how mine looked the day I took ownership - same colour, same wheels, etc. Nice mods planned too but I would suggest install of an LSD move higher up on the list. It has huge benefits especially once tuned. Looks like yours is an early E92 and being a manual, hopefully runs a bolted diff, the easiest one to swap over.
This is a good article with all the info: http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showp...52&postcount=1

May make it a PITA to do the LSD but i would love to get that power to the ground. All my previous cars have had an LSD so i know its worth it. I see you have the Quaife diff installed, are they really as good as they say they are. Also i see you did the short shift kit and CDV have they helped with the shifts. I was thinking about getting the BMW SSK, I feel that the throw of the gear lever is huge and taking off in first the clutch just has this annoy lag about it. |

Unfortunately with your production date, it's welded. I could not tell you if anyone local has done a swap on a welded one before. The Quaife (and I suppose any LSD) is worth it for the huge increase in traction and stability it provides; see the video here > https://store.vacmotorsports.com/qua...35i-p1673.aspx
I never liked the long throw of the stock shift and the UUC SSK with weighted gear knob have helped give the car a more positive and sweeter shift; and less restrictive M3 CDV gives you much better control of the clutch. Some just pull out the guts of the standard CDV to remove the restriction - plenty of DIY posts on that.

Also I believe the bmw SSK has been discontinued (unless you find someone selling shelf stock) the BMS kit seems popular, I've got the UUC also and its great. I've had advan remove the CDV, but its still awkward at times to get a clean quick launch at times in traffic ![]() |
