It's a reasonably common thing, I have seen them called "rim blades" and "rim protectors" also. Maybe best to get black ones or something more subtle than yellow lol...

Some people use them to add colour.

Negatives: Apparently they can scratch the rim in some cases due to the tight fitting.

Yeah, I've seen them sold under various brand names.

Why would you want them though? They look awful and imply you can't drive/park without mangling your wheels!

Personally, I would be worried about dust/grit getting in between them and the rim and marking the wheels.

just get the correct size tyres, and they have a built in rim protector...

Can't see these working myself. If you clip a curb, curb won't move. I'm not sure a thin piece of plastic is going to stop a wheel attached to a 2 tonne car either ?

I've heard of them coming adrift & damaging the wing etc as they flail about, I'd give them a miss, get tyres with rim protectors & buy the wife a bubble car
