Timing Table - US vs Euro Spec
Does anyone know why the timing in the low load/rpm area of the table is different on US cars?
I've checked a few different ROMs and all Euro spec cars have a smooth timing spread in the upper left but US spec cars have a strange spike at 1000rpm and below that looks like a typo. I'm sure it's emissions related but I can't figure why all tuned bins I've seen still have it. I8A0S US Spec timing table; IKC0S EU Spec IMC0S EU Spec INA0S EU Spec |

Interesting...Yea def. more advance in the low load/cruise area with the US bins.
Hrm....Would wake the throttle up a bit, but that seems extremely unlikely in terms of the reason behind it.

Yeah, I have always smoothed out my timing tables and thought it was weird that this burst of timing was there. Maybe for on/off the throttle leaving stop lights to make the car feel more alive from the factory.
I don't think you need to worry too much about matching ignition to AFR @ 700-1000 RPM - not a hugely important area of the powerband

When they made those timing changes they are also made changes to PID, AFR Use the 3D table in TP to identify the differences on the base |
