Powerfolding Mirrors Retro-fit Questions e91 LCI

Probably been covered quite a few times I know.

Looking to Retro-fit some Powerfolding Mirrors to My e91 LCI plus edition.

I've heard it does not work if you don't have electric seats? I DO have electric 'Bolsters' but not electrically moving seats. I'm aware i'll need the window switch panel with the power-fold button on too and of course code them into the car, is this possible?

Wayne.

I've got both the electric bolsters and the powerfolding mirrors on mine, factory fit. I'd say it can be done

What you would need to do it, i don't know i'm afraid.

Mine fold without electric seats.

I think it's the mirror dip when selecting reverse that you need the electric seats for.

Folding mirrors can be retrofitted without memory seats.
Requires some wiring modification or new door harness plus running new wires and coding.
I'd say its slightly more effort than fitting any PNP parts.

Do you have memory seats though? I only have the electric bolsters.

3 pin, I know you need a passenger door loom.

No, Mechanical seats with the electric pump for the adjustable side bolsters.

Sounds promising. Surely if i'm going from 3 pin mirrors to 3 pins mirrors and I change the passenger door loom, code that should be it!?

I think you are going to spend alot more time and headache and money for this function. I have memory seat and it was almost plug and play for me (just add coding) and it worked!

I know it seems a lot of hassle really! Wish I had memory seats, it sounds more of a common thing to have memory seats on the e92/e93's.

Nope you don't need electric seats for mirror dip on reverse, I have E90 Sport Plus, with power folding mirrors and my passenger side mirror will dip down when I select reverse. I don't have electric seats (I do have electric bolster adjustment)

In fact I think that is just a coding option, you don't need power folding mirrors for this feature.

yes you do,

you either have electric memory seats or power folding mirrors to have the feature you cant just code it in

Correct, because the power folding mirrors use the Lin bus which the standard mirrors don't use.

Amazing well done, did you add extra wires, harness, coding? I'm going to do mine at weekend and seeing if any extras needed before I start

I always use existing wires in car and coding according to mirror's options.

Did the car have 3 or 5 pin wiring?
