I don't really think it's the greatest country in the world. America trails the rest of the world in so many ways. The education system is not very good. Even in terms of world power and influence, America is losing ground as other countries become more powerful.

We are number 1 in delusion. Most people who scream that America is numero uno have never been outside the country, except for the occasional all-inclusive vacation in the Caribbean. And they get their daily dose of numero uno propaganda from the 24 hour news networks.

Because we are. And yes I have traveled to all continents. As long as the government doesn't get involved, we have the most freedom and most opportunity to advance. We did have the best Healthcare and education until see sentence prior to this one. Many countries have something good. But none has the total of so many positives combined. We do need to make some drastic changes. Get tough with foreign policy, lower corporate taxes, stop discrimination, especially reverse discrimination which has become popular lately, fix the border, open up domestic energy, kill teacher and government unions, etc., but these are easy fixes.

I have been to Maine, NH, VT, MA, RI, CT, NY, NJ, PA, DE, MD, VA, NC, SC, FL, IL, CA, NV, TX, GA, IN. Based on the above, I can say without a doubt this is the best country in the entire world.

Can't believe all of the above were for Dead shows.

edit: forgot about KY, MO, and OH. Now we're definitely the greatest country!

You do realize that showing this video completely misses the entire arch of The Newsroom.

Later on in the show....much later on, in the final season, they cross paths (she ends up working with him) and he makes her ask that question again.

She timidly asks again, starkly remembering how it went last time she asks the question, but this time he responds with "You do".

I don't remember much off that show but I do remember that. Most of the time I sat there yelling internally at Aaron Sorkins lofty and preachy writing style saying to myself "NOBODY TALKS THIS WAY IN REAL LIFE!".

I'm pretty sure there are other countries claiming they're the greatest in the world as well. I think America just has their nose up too high and way too prideful. IMO I don't think we are the greatest. I think we're great, but not the greatest lol.

China got the winter Olympics, maybe they are the greatest. They put on a ridiculous spectacle the last time they hosted, that nobody else could have pulled off.

And who the fuck wants to live in China? Typical Chiense barely scrapes by and most likely works in a sweat shop manufacturing electronics. So that one of us can later complain about it being a cheap POS once it fails a week after the warranty expires.
