Hi guys and girls new member here. Long time lurker.

I have a problem

Not had the car long (2months) and I've just noticed the yellow triangle with the exclamation mark flashing. Car hesitates to accelerate and the traction control light starts flashing. Any ideas?

Drove it again after a couple of hours and nothing, no warning tones/lights/errors

Age of car?If it's an older e90 my guess would be the rear driveshaft reluctor rings are swollen causing contact with the sensor heads.Is it worse on cornering?

could just be a bad sensor, could be a failing DSC pump, etc etc

you need to scan codes

2005 320i if it makes a difference, and no, not really worse when cornering.

Did a quick scan with Carly and it's not showing any codes which is weird.

2005 is prime rear reluctor rings material.Check them for rub marks (they'll be rusty)but if it's what I think it is they're will be shiney metal sections visible as you spin them round.Plus you won't get fault codes with this.

this isn't the source of the mystical "rear end low speed squeak" is it??

many of our cars have a squeak coming from the rear end at low city speeds

a rotational part that commonly has a rubbing issue could certainly cause similar symptoms

I would doubt it,when the driveshaft rings swell up they're only rubbing against a plastic sensor head,gradually over time the sensor misreads then you get dsc intervention for no reason.If you have a low speed squeak my guess would be brake shoes running against corroded brake drum part of the discs.

No, no low speed creaks or squeaks whatsoever.

Gonna take it to the mechanics on my day off this Friday. Will post any updates.

If it is confirmed as that issue,you can get the rings aftermarket using the existing driveshafts.You will need at least one sensor though.
