Requesting new posting rule

BIMMERPOST / Classifieds
Asking Price:
None

Item Interest
Well, I just recently was involved in a scam on this forum from the member ReeferCheefer. I feel that this happens alot of this website. From my previous experience on many other auto forums, I feel like there is a small flaw in the classified system that does not give buyers the assurance that the seller is legitimate. To fix this, it is very simple.

IF YOU ARE SELLING A PRODUCT YOU MUST POST A PICTURE OF THE PRODUCT WITH A PIECE OF PAPER WITH YOUR USERNAME, THE DATE, AND THE NAME OF THE PRODUCT.

If you do not have this, tough luck, your posting will be deleted. This will bring some legitimacy to your post and help the buyer feel better about sending you money.

I feel like this step is completely necessary, especially on this forum, that seems to have such relaxed rules in regards to posting. I dont even know who my moderators are or else I would have sent this to them also, but, id also like to see the communities opinion on this rule.

sorry for you getting scammed...but you really didnt need to post this like 10 times. If most sellers are like me...I am lazy and take old pictures off my phone to post FS posts. IMO you can ask people for that photo if it makes you comfortable but it shouldn't be a necessity

It is a very simple rule. I only posted in every sub thread because I figured everyone should see it. Was not trying to be annoying. The last forum I was a part of had wayyyy stricter rules with posting than this. It really isnt that hard to get a piece of paper, write on it, and snag a pic. you can obviously use other better quality pictures, but that one shows legitimacy.

I may be naive, and I am sorry you got scammed, but I have approx. 30 transactions on this forum, that is approx. 15 purchases and approx. 15 sales...tires, wheels, down pipes, spacers, wheel caps, racing nuts, etc. $ ranging from $3,000 BBS wheels to $50spacers and I have never once had a problem. The bigger $$ transactions require a little bit more due diligence to gain a level of comfort, phone calls, pics, contact info. but I really think you can assess pretty quickly if something doesn't feel right. In fact that's one of the beautiful things about this forum...you can basically assess if your buyer/seller is legit by reviewing their posts/ history etc...
