VRSF 7" intercooler install

I am posting this because of misleading posts about this product related to install.
First: the 15 minute uninstall is the worst part. The factory clamps need to be cut off with a dremel like tool or carefully pryed with a screw driver at the joint.

Look at what your cutting to fit the 7" VRSF intercooler...Forget about trimming to leave 1/4" material that does nothing - cut it all out. VRSF fits like a dream and goes in easier than that I've read on this forum. I used an angle grinder to cut the base off and tin snips to cut the top. Then pulled the top remnants off with some twist action and pliers.

Installation can be done with air tools easily with wobble extensions. There is plenty of room to get a 10mm deep socket on all clamps. If you don't have air tools you can use a regular 3/8 or 1/4 drive ratchet with cheap wobble extensions.

I was intimidated after reading about others install times and tools needed. If you're an experienced tinkerer this install will be a walk in the park.

Air tools makes everything easier my install wasn't so bad, definitely can make it faster a second time if needed.

But just to confirm since I have received mine today, with the M bumper, you have to remove the bumper for sure or no need?

Great points. People tend to make it sound a lot more difficult than it really is.

Unless these intercoolers install themselves, it's always hard to install (That goes for any intercooler).

I left my bumper on when I installed mine. I did the install in my garage using floor jacks.

I like to remove front bumper so you can just cut away and not worry about cutting the bumper

Can someone tell me exactly witch part I have to cut for the install on e92 with M bumper? I want to do it without a lift so no other choice that to remove the bumper?

It sure is. You aren't modifying the bumper, just the black plastic shroud.

Okey, perfect then I'll try with a lift without removing the bumper...

I installed mine a couple weeks ago in my garage with hand tools. I removed the front bumper, because it's only an extra five minutes, and it makes cutting the shroud easier. The most challenging part for me was connecting the lower chargepipe on the driver side. The rest of the install was pretty easy.

If you want to mount it solid you are going to have to make some solid mount's for it.
