My 1/4 mile results...

Went to easterncreek on wednesday, pretty good turnout saw 2 x 135i aswell as a 235i.

1st run got 11.7 vsed a ft86 that blew his clutch/transmission off the line... boring.

2nd run vsed a pretty blue r34 gtr that had semi's all over. (if a gtr has semi's on all 4 you know your in trouble. ran 11.97 while he tan 11.99 ( wish I saw his face)

3rd run hit some fail safe right after a more aggressive/spinning launch at 2k rpm brake boost

4th run I did a way to aggressive launch that got me spinning all through 1st and alot in 2nd but managed a 12.9 with 2.4 60 ft much to the suprise of the v40 volvo driver who ran low 13s.

I'm pretty sure the 60 ft times where a bit off possibly they placed the sensor too close hence the 1.4 60ft... and 1.6 60ft as I don't remember having 2 tires in the air through 1st haha.

Awesome times mate!!

Haha that R34 owner would have been really shocked

Any idea what sort of power it was putting out??

Are you a drag racing novice or have been doing it for a while in other previous cars also?

What power are you currently putting out?

I think it has become quite evident that the current management of Sydney dragway have no interest in providing what punters are paying for.

$60 now for bs times that are obviously a result of flawed calibration of equipment. The old saying was that 1/4 mile times don't lie but clearly WSID is no better than a fudged dyno plot.

No offence but that 60' is highly unlikely. I am sure your car is fast but I would personally be pissed if I paid that cash to get borked time slips.

been doing it on off for 2 years had a r34 gtt before this with 260rwkw meh pretty slow compared to the 335i.

not sure on power levels. I'm waiting for advan dyno day. I'm guessing close to or over 300 rwkw.

yeh. I know those 60 ft times are wrong as I stated before. hopefully the 1/4 mile times are accurate.

I hope so too, but for the money you shouldn't have to be suspicious if you know what in mean. You should be able to have some faith but lately that seems too much to ask.

Top effort mate - that is an awesome time for stock turbos. Seeing a few 11s (bmwheath also recently ran 11.9) has really given me hope that I can get into that time bracket as well. I have similar mods just looking to pull the trigger on a stage 2 LPFP then getting a pro tune done on e40 or e50

Thanks for sharing

I'm sure you can. launch is critical. with e85 mix try launching from 1.5k then giving it close to half throttle then 1 second later wot. I was running toyo r1r low psi aswell.

best part is the reaction of the spectators. not many people are familiar with the potential of our cars. I got few people asking me on the specs. and the Bane looking volvo driver knocking on my window...

Cool thanks for tips mate. Are you running 19" rears. Do you reckon 30-32psi for the rears?

oem 18s. I was at 32 psi rear. anything from 1.8 to 2.0 60 ft is a good launch I believe.

Thanks - just out of interest do you have an e92 or e90? I have an e90 which may be a bit heavier but not sure

Agree -a lot of people don't know what these cars are capable of with a few boltons and splash of e85. I would have also like to have seen the GTR drivers face lol

Awesome job mate!! The look on other peoples faces when they get beaten by a stock looking/sounding BMW is priceless hey!
Hate to burst your bubble on the 11.7 run but that 1.4 60ft time is not right, unless you turned on the 100 shot of NOS, had a line locker, MT slicks & a fully built 2 speed power glide trans with a 5500rpm stall lol. It has affected the overall time buy possibly 2-4 tenths of a second. Still a great run!
Your 1.68 60ft is excellent! You have your car dialed in nice!
Did you use a kickdown blocker? Or just manual mode in 1st gear?
I also found around 29-30psi in the tyres to give the best traction (im running 19's)

The MPH seems fairly low for both those runs too?? Would have thought it would be closer to 120mph. Im very lucky as my local racetrack is Willowbank Raceway, that track is the goods!!
So do you have any future mod's planned while running stock turbo's? You running an Lsd?

no lsd, just maintenance work now and a bov. later down the track maybe a turbo upgrade.

haha the 60 ft time/s are wrong. Cars with parachutes strapped to them get 1.4 60 ft I would think it should be 1.8 to 2.0.

toyo r1r 265. it's a softer compound tyre.

I think so! My friend has a full blown drag car and he has said the same thing about Eastern Creek at times.
Im struggling to get mine under a 1.8 60ft and im virtually the same mods as you, map7 20.5psi peak boost, LSD with 255 Bridgestone tyres, also Alpina trans flash.
Best 4 60ft times so far: 1.90, 1.89, 1.84, 1.81.
Ive tried every possible way of launching. My car does feel a bit laggy under 3000rpm though, did you notice that after doing the E85 backend flash?
