Got caught speeding 15 over.
I got a ticket going 15 over in NY today. Got caught Im more than happy to pay the fine but I dont want to lose points on my license. Do you guys have go to person who will represent me in a non guilty plea. I cant go back from Ontario. I have a clean record no tickets what so ever.

Guy in front of me was speeding much faster and had to switch lanes cus the car in front of him was too slow. He did that in front of the cop then the cop through the lights on and pulled out of his spot. I was 50 ft behind the guy speeding and instead of the cop getting the first guy speeding he pulled me over even tho his lights were on and pulled out before I past the cop. Wtff? I don't wanna go through the trouble getting a lawyer/ goin to court tho. Do you know how any points we'll be getting? Might just pay the fine and surcharge |

there's a lot of ways you can beat a speeding ticket all depends on luck and the equipment they clocked you with. Try to go to court alone and see if you can workout a deal with the prosecutor something like you pleading guilty and paying the fine no points. If not then you can go with a lawyer he/she can get you a deal like that. |

No plea deals in NYC. Upstate and Long Island you can plea. In any event I recommend you pay the fine. If not your driving privilege in NY will be revoked and next time you get pulled over you will be arrested.

Where did you get caught? I see people pass the SP all the time at 80. He ID'd you as an out of towner by your plate color. He thought there is a good chance you will pay it and not fight it.
1st check with OPP or your providence if there is an agreement between Ont and NY. If there is the points will probably transfer, if not just pay the fine cuz if you don't the next time you cross over they will impound your car. Why can't I get behind you on the I90 instead of the other slow MF'rs from canada. I guess the slow lane in canada is the left lane cuz that's where they like to sit. |

I got one last night. I plan to fight it. My state trooper that gave me the citation pretty much told me to appeal and fight it since I have a clean record. It has made me very nervous because I don't want the points, I could care less about the fee. I got charged with 90 - 17 speeding in MA but will fight it as there is no way he could have estimated and lidar'd me when I traveled less than 850ft from the intersection to where he was, for him to even have a proper angle for vision of my vehicle I would have travels 500 of those said 850 feet. 90-17 states that I must have traveled a distances of a quarter mile (this wasn't a school district or a business district) which is 1320ft... Anyways good luck man, I hope things work out for the both of us.
