Massive scoops and ducts may be functional but they are over the top now and ruin many car designs.

Despite the output of the M4's engine, there's nothing like the normally aspirated ITB'ed inline six with that alpha N MAF-less intake.

Probably the most beautiful, elegant, and well-balanced design to ever come out of BMW (IMO of course). Even to this day, whenever I see an E46 M3 on the road I do a double-take.

I love my 3er, but sometimes I wish I would've waited for the 235. However, I need 4 doors.

A M2 CSL would be great. ~360 horsepower with a curb weight under 3100 pounds, please!

I've always been a fan of the E46 M3, but decided to go with the E92 instead. I had a second go at getting an E46 M3 when I wanted to add a garage mate to the E92 and decided to go with the E36 M3 instead. Cheap to run, more nimble, a bit more back to basics than the E46. Since I knew the E92 is never going to be sold, I wanted more of a contrast the E36 provided. Still have plenty of respect for the car though (maybe not so much the love it requires).

I think adding the M2 to the S65 is going to be an epic combo. I can't wait either!

I'd MUCH rather drive a Z4M coupe than the E46 M3.....

I've driven a few E46 M3s and they were great....but not as crazy as I was hoping for and not as visceral either.

Not talking about the CSL of course....as I've never driven one or have even seen one in person!

I love the madness of the Z4M (and Z3M for that matter) and that's why I love the 1M most as it's cuckoo....the crazier the better! There is no M3 which has a lot of imagination after the E30 M3, IMO......but there are definitely other BMWs that have had it...

Speak for yourself. I miss the awesome scoops of the 60s/70s muscle cars. Nowadays we get non-functional ugly shit.

Nothing beats a NA engine. Specially one that sounds like the heavens just opened up vs one that comes from speakers inside cause its sound more like a diesel on the outside

Video made me miss my old E46 with the CSL rims and rear diffuser.

The CSL will definitely be the next E30 in terms of collectability.

Now with the rumors of next gen M3 going hybrid. It really hit home the the E46 is going to become a classic, with climbing values. Manual, rare color, low miles, slicktop, coupe, will command big money.
