Need Workshop recommendations - Western Sydney
Hi All,
First post so be gentle; I've done some searching before posting but couldn't find anything specific to my requirements so here I go. I have an E series 07 335i with a couple of issues and I'm hoping it will not cost a fortune to fix and I believe this will require a workshop that has worked on our engines before. My experience with performance workshops in the past have not been the greatest (different car). The issues Coolant leak, it appears to be coming from one of the metal coolant lines running to one of the turbos. It's pretty hard to see but I have put some pictures below. There is a gouge in the pipe which I've circled in the pics below - it looks like a pretty big mission to replace or repair so hoping to find someone who can work efficiently with our engines. No idea how this happened but suspecting it was my previous mechanic hitting it with something. This is causing a slow leak but seems to be getting worse, which brings me to my next issue - even when I top up the coolant/water, I still get a low coolant warning come on every time I start the car - I've checked the plug in case the connection wasn't great but it seems OK.. On top of that it also needs some basic everyday stuff like new brake pads and is due for a service. Can anyone recommend someone who knows our engines well who will likely be able to sort this out without saying the engine has to come out etc. - EDIT - I'm in Sydney guys, preferably western Sydney as I work in Eastern Creek. Thanks in advance for any help/advice. Cheers, Ben Last edited by Moonlapse; 08-16-2015 at 08:52 PM.. |

Mate, welcome.
If you're in Sydney go to Advan located at Aurburn - one stop shop http://www.advanperformanceeuro.com.au/

I've had a heap of work done by advan and they've always done a good job! Like yourself I've been burnt in the past by other so called performance shops who are mere amateurs...
Peter who runs advan performance has many years in mechanical work, is an ex racer and is a really honest type of mechanic. Bear in mind they're probably not the cheapest workshop in Sydney, but some things are worth paying more for when you know the job will get done right by someone who is a bmw enthusiast and since they're working on BMW's all day everyday they know the little details which make a difference... |

Thanks mate. I know Advan and had a couple of mates had some work done on their cars there (not BMWs) but they didn't go so well but still willing to give them a go, or at least get them to take a look and go from there. Thanks for the response. Ben |
